Wildlife Safari

The Safari Wildlife Park, is over (600) six hundred acres in size, and automobiles are lapped to drive the path and view over (650) six hundred fifty animals in action. The park opened in 1973, and over the years it has grown to be better than ever. The road is almost five miles long and, pictures can be taken along the drive. You can get up close and personal pictures and videos, of most animals except, the dangerous big cats and bears, which are behind glass.

A restaurant, movie theater, gift shop and kid's play area are on site. The petting zoo is fun and it is neat that throughout the park, there are sprinklers and misters to keep everyone cool. It gets very hot so, bring sun screen, sun glasses, and a large billed hat. Personally, The Safari was my favorite activity while vacationing in Oregon.

Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach)

Cannon Beach has history because, it was explored during the expeditions of Lewis and Clark. The swimming and Haystack Rock are the true attractions at this particular destination. This rock is a sea stack that stands an astonishing 235 feet high. The Cannon Beach History Center & Museum, documenting the history of this city is down the street. It is a great tour for the price of admission and it was an interesting tour as well.

Anyone who is a fan of the ocean and the beach then, this is a great place to go. Vendors and locally owned deli's and restaurants surround this area. Aside from the beach, the city, has a long list of entertainment for the night life as well.

Some of the rides are average while others are top notch. The amusement park does have lots of rides, for all ages, eating and other activities to keep visitors busy from open to close.

There are over 30 rides at the park and annual events such as, concerts that change each year. Most of the rides are typical rides that a state fair has, however, a few scary rides are at the park as well.

NBA Basketball

One of the things that I forget when I think of Oregon, is The Portland Trailblazers. The Portland Trailblazers basketball team was formed in 1970 as an NBA basketball team. Win or lose, the fans are always cheering and they turn out in full force for regular season, and playoff games. The half time shows are outstanding with dancing and loud dance music. Even if your not a fan of the Blazers, it's still fun to watch a live, professional, basketball game.

Celebrities from film and music, often attend games and the athletes that play for the Blazers usually are friendly and will even stay behind long fter the game, to sign autographs.

It's not from a boat. You can see them from an enclosed glass wall up high.

Great Hub. We're planning a trip to Oregon in about a year and want to make some stops along the way aside from Seattle and Portland. That sea lion cave looks awesome. You alluded that you can see whales as well. Do you have to go out on a boat to see the whales? What time of year can you see them?

My niece is living with me in MN but she is from Oregon. Absolutely loves it there and can't wait to get back. Looking at your hub I can see why.
