The SS Andrea Doria

Updated on December 1, 2012

SS Andrea Doria - Grand Dame Of The Sea

Imagine being on a luxury ocean liner, just hours from port when all of a sudden you find yourself on a sinking ship. It was unfortunate that those in charge of the Stockholm were not aware that The Andrea Doria was in its path.

After doing some research on The Andrea Doria, it seemed unbelievable that an incident like this occurred, and that so many lives were saved. The ship sank 240 feet into the shark infested waters less than ten hours of being hit by The Stockholm.

Hello and welcome to The History Of Andrea Doria, your source for links and information pertaining to one of the twentieth century's great luxury liners.

What a wonderful ship she was... such a shame the passenger ship industry has taken a turn away from ocean liners to floating amusement parks.
