Angels amongst us

Updated on December 8, 2010

Angels among us

There he stood, alone and confused, he couldn't remember how he got to this particular place, let alone this town even. It was if he had just awoken from some sort of an all night binge drinking episode, but he hadn't done that in years, so thirsty and hot as well, "Am I getting the flu" he wondered to himself. Well the first thing to do now would be to get a drink of water and perhaps while searching for just such a place, he would discover some other information, such as his where abouts.

Well it's still light outside, he thought to himself, at least I'll be able to see clearly where I'm going. As he stood up from where he had been sitting, he felt his legs might not hold underneath him, rapidly he sat again. "Whew", he said aloud, "that was close". It occurred to him, maybe I've been sitting here quite a spell, I should try stretching. He had just so happened to be sitting on a metal bench, he thought "it could be a bus stop bench" even, although he did not know for sure, it seemed to fit. So he turned himself sideways and started lifting his legs, that's when he saw it, a twisted and charred remnant of what appeared to be an old Chevy pick-up. As he stared at the smoldering remains for what seemed like an eternity, he thought to himself; Why is there no police, or firemen around, in fact where are the people who should be gawking at this spectacle?

Curiousity had gotten the better of him and before he knew it, he was up and moving towards the truck. His gait was awkward and his walking clumsy, but he was steadily progressing to the vehicle. When he moved closer to the wreckage, he noted it was facing in the wrong direction. He had been correct, even from afar he had identified the truck properly as a Chevrolet, a later model Silverado, perhaps a 2004 or 05, it had an extended cab and custom wheels with large tires-at least what was left of them-and he was able to see some dark blue paint, "like sapphire", he thought. As he walked around to the drivers side of the truck, he first spied a shoe, a sneaker to be exact, and then he saw the body. The body was that of a male, and if he had to guess, he would say about 45 years of age. The man was caucasian, dark brown hair and wearing a uniform, upon closer examination, he was able to see a company logo, Cacapon Plumbing it read and the name on the shirt said Robert. "Something so familiar about this guy", he thought, at that moment on the drivers side of the truck he caught a glimpse of himself in the trucks mirror. "What the Hell", he startled. this guy is me; BOOM! That's when it all came rushing back in at once, noise, lights, people and...and more. He remembered driving and then; airborne, a fire breaking out;" I'm pinned, Help me God fire spreading", family, wife and daughter,"what will happen to them now"...

Travel Assurance

Do we know when or where we will go? There will come a day,we wont be expecting, when all we thought we knew just doesn't mean squat any longer.

What do we need more life insurance? No, we need assurance in our life, we need to know that no matter how bad off things could become, we will still be there for each other, with love as our weapon. No false promises, no emptiness, we will aways be loved and love when we remain free of this world in our hearts, minds and souls. We have given those over to Someone else for safekeeping, only one can safeguard our being, our souls.

Christ is Lord!
