Asheville, NC - Where Are the Best Views in Asheville?

Asheville is a beautiful city. Nestled in the Appalachian, Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the city itself boasts diverse architecture, beautiful artistry and some of the most stunning views in the world; every day has something new to show you in the Land of the Sky.

Those of us who live here rightly celebrate the beauty of our city and the mountains that surround us. Every season brings a new perspective, a shifting of nature’s colors. There’s plenty to look at in the city as well, from our architecture to our residents, celebrating art, culture and nature.

That’s why it’s helpful to know just where you can appreciate the sights that the city and surrounding area have to share; whether you want to appreciate the Art Deco buildings, the fascinating city skyline or the majesty of the Great Smoky Mountains, there are lots of spots around town that provide great vantage points.

Great viewing places in Downtown Asheville

  • See a lot of Asheville at once by standing on top of the hill at Hiawassee and looking towards Broadway; higher up the hill is better – Find Hiawassee on a map
  • If you like Baseball, why not try the view from Memorial Stadium, above McCormick Field – Map to Memorial Stadium
  • If you want a cocktail with your view over the mountains, the Sky Bar in Downtown Asheville is hard to beat – Get to the Sky Bar with this map

Places to get a great view in South Asheville

  • Go to the AB Tech Campus that looks over the French Broad River to get a 300 degree view of the city and mountains; look due west in the evenings for a stunning sunset –Locate the AB Tech campus on a map

Views in North Asheville

  • Hy Vu Drive off of Merrimon is apparently great for views, especially fireworks, either in Downtown or at the Grove Park Inn – A map of Hy Vu Drive
  • It’s a bit of a drive, but North Griffing Boulevard and Sunset Drive provide some stunning views – Find North Griffing and Sunset
