The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Thailand's most sacred site and you must be properly dressed in order to go inside. Men and women both should have their body covered with clothes. You aren't allowed to wear sandals inside without socks and even in the warm temperatures you must be wearing long sleeves and pants. If you aren't dressed properly but want to go inside, don't worry, you can pick up clothes there that are appropriate.
