City with a Gorgeous Horizon
Hundreds of years ago, a Catholic Pope came to the city of Belo Horizonte. He said, 'this city has a beautiful horizon' and that became the name of the city. Belo Horizonte is located in the state of Minais Gerais and has a population of 5.7 million people. Direct flights from Miami go to Belo Horizonte almost daily. This beautiful city is about a 5 hour drive from Rio de Janiero and the coast. As an inland city, it has many beautiful hilly and mountainous areas around it to visit, including beautiful little towns with cobble stone streets like Ouro Preto.
This city is a hilly city like San Francisco, California in the United States. It is a city with a lot of character. Brazilians versed in their history will tell you it is the place where airplanes were invented.
