Tawang is a small town among 16 administrative districts of Arunachal Pradesh in north-eastern India. Tawang Monastery, founded by the Mira Lama Lodre Gyatso of the 5th Dalai Lama is the most popular tourist place, it has an 8 meter tall statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and it’s commonly believed that’s the second biggest Buddhist monastery in the world after the one in Tibet.
Earlier this town was claimed by China as is part of china republic and has a disagreement with India and China, hence it was not endorsed for tourists. But once the dispute was set, Tawang is gaining tourism and popularity, pollution free natural beauty and in budget tourism are enticing the summer tourists.

      Hi Sam,

      In India many hill station and towns have snowy weather. Though the numbers are limited and mostly around Himalayan in North and North-eastern Indian region.

      Never thought about India in snowy weathers. Of course I know the mountain area's, but this makes it feel like alps in winters. Cool :)
