Best Breakfast Spots on Oahu
What better way to start your day than with a delicious, satisfying breakfast?
Across Oahu you'll find many spots where you can dine on light, fluffy pancakes, scrumptious waffles, or filling omelettes.
Whether you're heading to Honolulu, leeward Oahu, windward Oahu, or even to the North Shore, step into one of these restaurants that are known for their breakfasts to start (or end) your day off right.
Boots & Kimo's Homestyle Kitchen
Locals from all around the island travel to the windward side of Oahu to wait in line for breakfast at Boots & Kimo's.
What's the draw?
Could it be one of the over dozen omelettes made with 3 1/2 eggs, such as the popular Fried Rice Omelette or the Maui Wowie Omelette?
Or could it be the Eggs Benedict?
Or maybe it's the Hawaiian Style Pulehu Ribs (yes, ribs for breakfast!).
The answer could easily be "yes" to all of the above, but the biggest draw to Boots & Kimo's is the pancakes.
More specifically, the pancakes with Kimo's special Macadamia Nut Sauce.
Whether you order the banana pancakes, macadamia nut pancakes, or a regular short stack of pancakes, getting them topped with Macadamia Nut Sauce is a must (if you're unsure you'll like the sauce, you can always order it on the side).
Pancakes are smothered in a silky, smooth, buttery sauce and topped with a sprinkling of crushed macadamia nuts.
Island flavors and influences are abundant in Boots & Kimo's homestyle dishes, and patrons get a taste of aloha with each bite.

The Original Pancake House
With two locations on Oahu, The Original Pancake House offers not only their signature pancakes, but also waffles, crepes, omelettes, and everything else you'd expect from a busy breakfast spot.
The Original Pancake House's pancakes - voted some of the best on the island - are light and fluffy, and can be ordered with a variety of ingredients mixed in, such as blueberries, bacon, or pecans.
Two of their specialties include the Apple Pancake - an oven baked pancaked topped with Granny Smith apples and a sweet cinnamon glaze, and the Dutch Baby - an airy, oven-baked treat that's served with lemon, whipped butter, and powdered sugar.
If ordering either the Apple Pancake or Dutch Baby, be prepared to wait about 20-25 minutes (you can call ahead to order), but it's well worth the wait.
Omelettes are another popular item. Choose from such mouth-watering varieties such as the Potato Omelette, served with a sour cream sauce on the side, or the Garden Special, perfect for the veggie lovers out there.
If you order an omelette, get it with a side of pancakes, because they really are that good.

Kono's in Haleiwa is frequented by surfers, tourists, and locals alike, and they're known for their famous Breakfast Burritos.
Named after popular surf spots on the North Shore, such as Sunset and Pipeline, each gigantic burrito is stuffed with potato or rice, scrambled eggs, and cheese, in addition to your choice of ingredients such as bacon, Portuguese sausage, or roasted veggies.
If you relish spicy foods, ask for Tapatio hot sauce inside your burrito for a bit of a kick.
Other specialities include their Banana Macadamia Nut Waffle and Breakfast Bagels.
If you simply feel like bacon and eggs, they have that too.
Kono's is a great spot to grab breakfast before or after hitting the waves.
