Best Tourist Attractions In Alaska

As mentioned in my previous hubs I love travelling, being able to experience some of the most wonderful things around the world is a true passion of mine. These are some of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and are ones the entire family will enjoy. I have been to Alaska seven times, and I would absolutely love to go back one day. Alaska is truly beautiful in many ways, and is known for its incredible wildlife.

Tongass National Forest

Tongass National Forest is located in the Alaska Panhandle region, and is over sixteen million acres in size. The Tongass National Forest is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and is also one of the biggest forest in the entirety of the United States. The Tongass National Forest was opened back in 1907, and has some of the most amazing scenery you will come across within Alaska.

I have been to the Tongass National Forest four times, and would absolutely love to go back one day. The Tongass National Forest has many attractions throughout this massive area, and includes a beautiful rainforests, Mountains, Fjords, Glaciers, and many other attractions which make it so very popular. The Tongass National Forest has some pretty amazing wildlife that you will come across, and has a very rich history to it as well.

Alaska Zoo

Alaska Zoo was located in Anchorage, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions for families in Alaska. The Alaska Zoo was opened back in 1969, and has about one hundred different animals. The Alaska Zoo is about twenty five acres in size, and is not only a fun experience but is also very educational.

I have been to the Alaska Zoo twice, and is not only a zoo but acts as a rescue centre for injured animals as well. The Alaska Zoo has pretty amazing agriculture throughout the area, and is definitely one attraction I would highly recommend checking out. The Alaska zoo holds some amazing events throughout the year, and also has some pretty cool live shows as well.

Portage Glacier

Portage Glacier is located in the Kenai Peninsula, and was first discovered back in 1898. The Portage Glacier has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and is about six miles in size. The Portage Glacier has some pretty incredible scenery that surrounds it, and is one tourist attraction I would highly recommend checking out.

I have been to the Portage Gracier three times, and would absolutely love to go back one day. The Portage Graciet has an amazing history to it, and sets the scene to be incredibly romantic, and if you are on your honeymoon this is definitely one spot I would stop at.

Totem Bright State Historical Site

Totem Bight State Historical Site is located in Ketchikan Gateway Borough, and was opened back in 1939. The Totem Bright State Historical Site is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and is about thirty three acres in size. The Totem Bright State Historical Site has a series of totem poles, and was created to celebrate the nature culture.

I have only been to the Totem Bright State Historical site once, but the history of it was absolutely incredible. The Totem Bright State Historical Site is more geared towards the adult generation, but the vibrant colours makes children seem to like it as well. The Totem Bright State Historical Site is very beautiful, and is one attraction I would highly recommend checking out.

Alaska SeaLife Center

Alaska SeaLife Center is located in Seward, and was opened back in 1998. The Alaska SeaLife Center is over one hundred and fifty thousand feet in size, and has become one of the most popular tourist attraction for families in Alaska. The Alaska SeaLife Center is not only fun experience but also very educational, and the agriculture throughout the area is truly amazing.

I have been to the Alaska SeaLife Center four times, and would love to go back one day. The Alaska SeaLife Center has a pretty amazing Research Center with several amazing exhibits, and there are a lot of live shows are pretty incredible as well. The Alaska SeaLife Center has quite the amazing events throughout the year, and is definitely one attraction I would highly recommend checking out.

Gates Of The Arctic National Park

Gates Of The Arctic National Park & Preserve is located in Bettles, and is over eight million acres in size. The Gates Of The Arctic National Park & Preserve is known as a national monument, and is one of the biggest in the entire world. Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and has some of the most amazing scenery. The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail has some incredible wildlife you will come across, and is completely paved. I have been to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail five times, and would love to go back one day.

Eklutna Lake

Eklutna Lake is located in Anchorage, and is over thirty five hundred acres in size. The Eklutna Lake is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and is incredibly beautiful. The Eklutna Lake has something for the entire family to enjoy, and is one attraction I would highly recommend checking out.

Kabuk Valley National Park

Kobuk Valley National Park is located in Northwest Arctic Borough, and is a little over one million seven hundred and fifty acres in size. The Kobuk Valley National Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska, and was opened back in 1980. The Kobuk Valley National Park was created to protect the amazing sand dunes within the area, and has something for the entire family will enjoy.

I have only been to the Kobuk Valley National Park once, and it was probably the most fun I have had within Alaska. The Kobuk Valley National Park is incredibly beautiful, and sets the scene to be incredibly romantic, and if you are on your honeymoon this would be one spot to check out. The Kobuk Valley National Park has some of the most amazing sunset you will come across in Alaska, and the wildlife is pretty awesome as well.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is located in Portage, and is about two hundred acres in size. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center was opened back in 1993, and was created to protect the injured animals within Alaska. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center has a pretty amazing history about it, and has incredible exhibits as well.

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is not only a fun experience but also very educational, and is definitely one attraction I would highly recommend checking out.
