Best time to go on vacation

Updated on March 26, 2012

With school almost over there will be a lot of people going to vacation and traveling on the busy roads. The summer is always one of the favorite seasons for many to go on vacation because of the many months that the children have off of school. But it is during this time that gas prices are higher and that is what makes people think twice at times of traveling.

But summer isn't always the only season to travel in. There are four seasons and I am sure that each season has its pros and cons when it comes to traveling. Of course we all know the four seasons, Spring, summer, fall, and winter. Some people like to travel more in the winter, maybe a few like to travel in the spring, maybe some in the fall. Everyone is different, but it also depends when the people can actually take vacation.

I know when my family goes to vacation, we usually go in the summer because that is the only time for my parents to really go on vacation but it isn't always the favorite time for us to go. For the first part when it comes to traveling in the summer, the weather is decent, not too hot in most places and not to cold. However, when it comes to gas prices we do not look forward to paying the high prices so that really makes us think twice.

Another reason we travel in the summer is because it is nice and green and we can really enjoy the scenery as we drive through Georgia and Kentucky. However, there are the insects, the chiggers, and the most pesky insects, the mosquitoes. That is never our favorite part, sometimes no matter how much bug repellent we put on, it seems they tend to find a spot to bite us in.

We also like to travel in the winter because it is nice to see the snow and it isn't too hot. But of course we always have to watch for the ice that forms on the road. If it were up to my mom, this would be the best season for us to travel because she doesn't have to worry about the bugs that usually come out in the summer.

Now it is kind of different when it comes to traveling around the fall and spring because in many places those two seasons are bring the most winds, the trees are starting to bloom and so comes the sneezing. So those seasons we like to stay home where we know that it is the safest to stay indoors.

Traveling is something that can be enjoyable by everyone. It is a much deserved vacation that we all need. When do you like to travel? Does money make you think about how it is the best time to travel or when? Does the price of gas matter?

What season do you like to travel in?

For me it depends on where I am going. If I am going to Yellowstone then spring is the best time. If going to Vermont then fall is the best. Of course, I have the freedom to go whenever I choose so that helps greatly. Helpful hub and well-written as usual.
