Carrot Top Stand Up Comedy at the Luxor in Las Vegas

Updated on August 3, 2012

Prop comedy at the Luxor

I'll be the first one to admit it, I don't like prop comedy. While I'm at it, I should probably also disclose that I don't care for the Luxor in Las Vegas either. It looks nice from a distance, but once you get inside you feel like you're standing on the inside of a giant paper mache model. I swear I can see some of the excess glue around the seams.

Despite hating his brand of comedy and the location he chooses to perform it in, I still have a certain amount of respect for Carrot Top. He's been going out there with his trunk full of props for a good 20 years now. He became a household name when he started appearing on late night talk shows and 1-800-CALL-ATT collect call commercials (remember the 90's, back before EVERYONE had a cell phone?). He's now been banished to the big black pyramid in Las Vegas, where he performs his comedy almost nightly and I can only assume spends his days in the gym or ingesting Andro cocktails.

Carrot Top ticket prices and showtimes

Carrot Top tickets start at $50 and go up if you want really good seats. The show starts at 8:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. If you order tickets a month in advance online you can usually get a discount of about 20% off the price, plus they'll send you a Carrot Top DVD. There is also a discount for members of the military or civil service. You can get a dinner and show package combination that will save some money.

I should note that despite what you may have seen on TV, Carrot Top's show features a lot of adult humor and language, and you must be 18 years or older to attend. When you order tickets, remember that the theater seating is in alphabetical order, so a seat in the A row is in front and a seat in the M row is in the back.
