Cheap Airline Tickets To Little Rock | Flights Little Rock Arkansas

Updated on June 19, 2012

The Little Rock National Airport in Arkansas, is easily the largest and busiest airport in the State, with over 2 million passengers last year passing through its gates. All of the major airlines have flights to Little Rock which makes it a competitive airport and you will find cheap airline tickets to Little Rock, Arkansas.

Travel Search Engines

Travelocity, Mobissimo, LowFares.com and other travel search aggregators advertise cheap flights to Arkansas from many US Cities. If you do a search with one of these search engines, the airport code for this destination is LIT.

To find the best prices on airline tickets keep your travel dates flexible. Most of the airfare search engines have a great feature which lets you select “flexible travel dates”. You can search for a particular date range, plus or minus three days or you can search for the cheapest airline tickets within a time frame of several months.

About the Airport

The airport is a single terminal with twelve gates. Currently, the airport is handling more passengers than it was designed to handle. This often leads to crowded periods and areas within the terminal. In particular, the three gates where Southwest Airlines operates, are prone to over-crowding. There is a 15 year plan in place to expand the terminal. The plan was announced back in 2008 and when the expansion is complete there will be 17 gates.

The airport does not handle direct international flights, but there are 18 connecting cities for international flights. On average there are more than 150 departures or arrivals each day at LIT.

@Lisa, thanks for the comments. Yes a good way to save on airline tickets is to check out the smaller airline's websites directly. Many times they are not included in the travel search aggregators like Expedia and Travelocity.

      surf,

very thorough hub. I am impressed. I voted up and useful. I live in Texarkana so I will refer back to this. I have never even heard of many of these airlines and I have flown out of Little Rock numerous times.

      Take care,

      Lisa

      Hi Steven,

I would recommend checking out Southwest's website for their airfare between SLC and LIT. Then use an aggregator like LowFares to search all the travel search engines for their pricing. Travelocity and the others don't pick up Southwest airfares, so you need to compare to their website to make sure you're getting the cheapest flight.
