Cheap Things to do in Cornwall: Cornwall Gold
When you're going on holiday, whether you are alone or with your family, sometimes you need to plan activities that don't cost the earth. Finances run low, particularly near the end of the holiday, and a low cost option is always welcome.
Cornwall Gold is set in the heart of the countryside near Redruth and is a great place for adults and kids alike. There, you will find some of the most beautiful jewelry in the country at some very reasonable prices. It's free to get in but I have to say that the jewelry is very tempting, the pieces are all in beautiful displays and you can even see jewelry being made in the workshop.
Cheap Activities in Cornwall Gold
There are loads of things for kids to do, but they are reasonably cheap, there's a build your own bear workshop, even panning for gold which is actually really fun, and at only £3 per person it's loads of fun for a great price. There are gift shops scattered all over the place and some of the things on offer are stunning, so if you're on a budget then just watch your wallet!
If browsing the gift shop doesn't take your fancy then try taking a tour of Tolgus Mill, one of Cornwall's most famous gold mines. It's fascinating history is worth the visit alone, there you can learn all about smelting and see some of the tools that people used to use to mine for gold years ago.
Great Value Food in Cornwall Gold
There are play parks for the kids in Cornwall Gold and a very well priced, delicious looking restaurant for meals, or you can sit at one of the tables and have your family picnic and enjoy the beautiful flowers and scenery. It gets pretty busy, even during traditionally quiet seasons, which says a lot for its popularity, so you will need to get a picnic spot fairly quickly!
Cornwall Pearl and Silver
It's not just gold on offer, there are dedicated sections and shops for silver and pearls too, in Cornwall Pearl, you can learn all about the different kinds of pearls that there are, it's actually really fascinating and I never knew there were so many, or how expensive they were!
A Cheap, but fun day out.
Cornwall Gold is 18 acres of fun for everyone, and with free entry and free parking it is a low cost, but high value day out. There really is something to keep everyone entertained, and if you aren't looking for gold or bears, you could always try the ever popular crazy golf, I think it's the law, you have to do it at least once when you come to Cornwall!
