Christmas Travel tips. The number of people traveling by air is expected to increase nearly 3% to 2.75 million flyers this season. According to AAA there is a 3.1 % jump in people traveling this holiday season. 92.3 million people are expected to travel 50 miles are more from home for the holidays. Peak travel times are usually 8 am till 12 PM. The biggest travel days are Wednesday or Thursday. Holidays are always a stressful and exciting time of the year. Christmas is a time of the year when most people are traveling or on vacation. It is the busiest time of the year worldwide.
If traveling by car give yourself plenty of time. Never leave last minute. This a recipe for disaster. Fill your car up with gas the night before leaving. Always be prepared for traffic delays or auto accidents. Take bathroom breaks when you stop for gas. This will get you to your destination in a more timely manner. Leave early during the week and leave earlier during the week this will also help with your trip. Driving at night time is also a good idea. Most people don't do this that is why it is a good idea. Most of the time there are fewer cars on the road ways.
Never drive when you are tired , make sure you get plenty of rest. For those of you who have another driver, switch up. This will allow the other driver to get some rest as well. If traveling with little ones night time driving is the best. They sleep while you drive. No fussing no problem. When they wake up make sure you let them go to the bath room. Have snacks on hand as well. Hand help games are wonders for older children on long trips. Or pop a movie in while you drive. If you don't have this luxury , listen to Christmas music it will pass the time and will keep you in the Christmas spirit.
