College Restaurant Hangouts on University Avenue in Tucson

No Anchovies is one of the best pizza places near the University of Arizona.  The best pizza near the U of A in my opinion is Zachery's on 6th St (only barely better), but I find No Anchovies a better hangout style pizza place.  No Anchovies offers a variety of pizzas including by the slice options.  They also serve beer for a reasonable price for a restaurant, especially since they have serve some good brews.

This is a good college hangout spot to study on a hot Tucson day. They rotate the flavors each week, so there is something different to consider ordering each week. Their yogurt and ice cream options include healthier options to help avoid the Freshman 15, such as non-fat, sugar free, and low carb yogurt. The teak furniture give it a beach hang out feel. The enclosed outdoor area is great for all seasons, as it has a misting system and gas fire pit.

Frog and Firkin is a great pub style college hangout on University Avenue. They have some great fries served with different toppings such as the Red Fries with pizza sauce and mozzerella and the Green Fries with pesto and brie. They do serve pizza, which is very filling, although No Anchovies next door is better in my opinion. Frog and Firkin is worth visiting for the burgers and fries, though.  They also have a better beer selection than No Anchovies, as well as more comfortable outdoor patio atmosphere.

A pretty classic college hangout spot is a coffee place.  Not really the best coffee hangout in the history of places on University, but by default kind of the best considering the old favorite of Cafe Paraiso closed down and even the newer okay hangout Coffee Art LLC went out of business.  Starbucks is at least a good hangout despite the coffee not necessarily being all that affordable on the average student budget.
