Get a Disney Birthday Badge/Button

When you first arrive at Disney whether it is at a Resort Hotel or one of the Parks, make sure that you let the cast member know that it is your birthday. You will then receive a large Badge/Button with your name written on it to let everybody know it is your Birthday. Wear this throughout your trip to get noticed. You will be amazed at the number of people who will wish you a Happy Birthday! The Badge/Pin is also available from Guest Services. The Pin that you are given will have your name written on it with a marker pen. This will rub off quickly. The way around this is to put scotch tape over the name after it has been written, protecting it from being rubbed off.

Tell your Waiter/Waitress in the Restaurant!

If you make a reservation at any of the Disney Restaurants make sure that you mention you will be celebrating a Birthday. The Birthday Person will most certainly then get a little Birthday Cup Cake and will often have the whole Restaurant serving staff singing Happy Birthday at the table.

Even if you have not made reservations, let the staff know there is a birthday being celebrated and see what happens. My daughter was even presented with a birthday card signed by all the staff at Le Cellier, the Steakhouse at the Canada Pavilion in Epcot.

Get a Birthday Message from Mickey or one of his Friends

Speak to any Cast Member and they will get a telephone for you which will put you through to one of the characters to wish you a Happy Birthday. This is especially great for children and is available from any Disney Telephone.

Order a Birthday Cake!

You can arrange for a Birthday Cake to be delivered to your table at any of the Disney Restaurants. Mention that you would like to do this when making your breakfast/lunch/dinner reservation and they will tell you how to go about doing it. There will be a charge which you can put on your room bill if you are staying in a Disney Resort. Make sure that you mention to your Waiter or Waitress that you have ordered a cake and also when you would like it to be brought to the table.

When I visited in 2009, I got a free day at one of the parks. Is that perk still in? The rest of the trip was great -- cupcakes at meals, characters' extra attention... so much fun, I'm going on my birthday again this year!

I've only had the pleasure of visiting Disney Land in California, but never for a birthday. However, I will certainly pass this along to some of my friends and relatives who may do this. Thanks for sharing.

Birthdays at Disney World are always unforgettable. My most memorable was my 21st, when I drank around the world at the Epcot World Showcase. Amazing.
