Durham, What A Cool Town
Had the pleasure of traveling around Durham with a friend today....We walked around American Tobacco Campus, and checked out some of it's scenery and also went by the Full Frame Theatre.
In addition to that, we stopped in the downtown area which she said reminded her of places she had visited in the past like Amsterdam with it's narrow roads but really cool places.
She was loving the small houses outside of Downtown, but really dug the bookstore Letters which a friend owns. We also walked by Dame's Chicken and Waffles and ducked her head into Exotique, and also stopped by Dolly's, a really cool Vintage shop. I told the owner both about Zog's in Chapel Hill and the Green Monkey in Raleigh...There are really cool shops throughout the Triangle region of North Carolina.
I also told her about Pleaides and Carrack Art Galleries. In addition to that, there is the Lemur Center in Durham and a center that studies ESP. And of course, there is the realy cool Nasher Museum and the equally Hip Duke Gardens.
And, on the campus of NCCU, there is a great Art Gallery, a stellar Music department, and an awesome radio station and that's just a few of their treats..
So, the next time, you are looking for someplace fun to visit come on over to Durham and check it out...Who knows the unofficial cultural minister, Me, might even give you a tour...
