Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climbing

It was also named as “Imja Tse” which resembles the glaciated west face originated from Lhotse Glacier. However it is popularly known as Island peak all over the world. Every mountaineer climbs island peak for proper acclimatization before attempting to climb other peaks above 8000 meters like Mt. Everest. In fact more than 1000 mountaineers climb the Island peak in a single season. Even Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgay Sherpa, the first mountaineers to step on the top of the world climbed this Island peak for acclimatization and preparation to ascent the summit of Mt. Everest.

Firstly we head towards Lukla airport to experience one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world, Everest base camp trek along with the Kalapattar for the spectacular views of great Himalayas including Mt. Everest to see these just in front of our eyes. Further we descend towards Chhukung to get ready and acclimatize properly for the Island peak climbing expedition after picturing the close views of Himalayas in our mind as well as in camera of course from Kalapattar.

Island peak climbing is the classic trek in the Everest region, providing the opportunity to beginner and amateur mountaineers to be at the touching distance away from the Mt. Lhotse and Mt. It is seen just like a giant rock standing in front of us. Very close and stunning view of surrounding mountain can be seen from the peak that includes Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt.
