There is more to see in Italy than you realize

Don’t be a monkey see, monkey do tourist. Find your own way to experience and enjoy Italy. Anyone can go to Rome to see the Coliseum or to Venice and take a gondola ride or even travel to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. These destinations are on everyone’s vacation must see list. An explorer finds their own unique sites to visit and creates their own vivid memories to last them a lifetime.

Here is a list of 5 places that will make any Australian a grand explorer who carves out his or her own vacation pleasure.

#1. The Italian Lake District—

Found in northern Italy, these lake offer magnificent scenery combined with attractive weather. With mountain slopes rising from the water’s shores these lakes offer the explorer a chance to walk in the footsteps of Pliny the Younger or George Clooney.

#2. Sicily—

A stop for any explorer who can wander through ancient history or explore one of Italy’s active and Europe’s tallest volcano, Mt. Etna. Then when one gets tired, they can spend their time searching the art galleries for the right art treasure to decorate their home .

#3. Cinque Terra—

Any explorer would proof their salt by staying in some of the homes or inns found in these rural villages. Located in Liguria, these villages place their homes and wine patios on step cliff sides and are not for the faint of heart. These villages also offer great hiking trails that offer stunning views of Italy’s northern coasts, a heart stopper for any explorer.

#4. Amalfi Coast—

If the explorer in you isn’t satisfied with Cinque Terra then we suggest a trip to Amalfi Coast. Boasting more hiking trails but this time over Italy’s southern coast, any explorer would feel fulfilled by seeing the beauty of this area. When the explorer gets hungry then they can search the local villages for a place to eat. These towns offer great restaurants for the largest of appetites.

#5. Milan—

Finally the explorer can go to Milan and explore that wonderful city’s rich historic past. Or if history doesn’t thrill the wife and daughters, they can explore Milan’s large fashion center and come home looking like queens. Whatever your taste, Milan has it.

Some final words

For any explorer who does not want to follow the crowd to the same old places, Italy has something exciting to offer. The variety of sites, history and scenery, along with fashion, food and other treats no explorer will go home feeling they did the same old thing. They will know that their experience was unique and fun.

But these adventures are not for the adult explorer only. They are great destinations for the whole family and your children will love the experience as well as the scenery. Your children will benefit from the exposure to the great Italian culture found at all of these locations. Don’t let having a family interfere with your having a great vacation experience, bring them along and enjoy Italy together.
