Dallas is all about shopping. Many new buildings but not exactly a great photo taking destination. The Heard Nature Museum and Preserve is a great getaway for the family and doesn't cost much. There are interesting things in Dallas besides the malls but you do have to look for them.

Been to Dallas many times up on the North toll road near the Mall. Always a nice time, except in August when it was 109 degrees at 7pm.

Sorry, but being a Texan and having been to Dallas, I cannot recommend that city. It's crowded, horrible traffic, and some of the rudest people in the country.

As for food, the barbecue is much better than the TexMex and I think the smaller towns in Texas have better barbcue joints.

Dallas is a hoity-toity, bible belt, crime ridden, unfriendly place to go.

Houston or San Antonio are better choices. Go to Fort Worth instead of Dallas. It's more Texan anyway.
