Updated on July 10, 2011

GA Aquarium is the world’s largest aquarium and one of the best. It was established in 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia.

You can buy tickets from their site or you can save some bucks buying your tickets from AAA or Costco. You can also purchase a Atlanta City Pass – tickets for 6 attractions in Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, Inside CNN Atlanta Studio Tour, Fernbank Museum of Natural History OR Atlanta Botanical Garden, High Museum of Art OR Atlanta History Center.

If you are a baseball nut consider buying another package option that can bundle several attraction tickets with a Braves home game ticket, this is a seasonal package, check for available dates.

Go behind the scenes to see how scientists, engineers, and veterinarians are creating and managing the Georgia Aquarium, the world's newest and largest aquarium. Management and care of the vast array of fish and mammals requires new techniques and technologies, and many species can now be studied in-depth for the first time. Medicine, biology, zoology, environmental science and engineering all come to play in creating this new aquarium adventure.

GA Aquarium is very interactive and informative for kids. They can touch and feel several aquatic animals. There are also interactive touch screens that give them information about the fishes and animals they see.

The GA, Aquarium is organized into 5 attractions,

Coldwater Quest,
Georgia Explorer,
Ocean Voyager,
River Scout,
Tropical Diver,
4D Theater

The first five are aquatic animals categorized according to the geographic area they live in. The 4D Theatre is a 3D movie with some extra effects (water splashed on you…).
Along with seeing the thousands of animals at the Georgia Aquarium, the 3D movie allows you the experience their habitats from the aquatic animals view. It has some fantastic special effects and great interactive experience. When a fish swims on the screen you see it right next to you and also feel a slimy thing touching you. It is great fun for both adults and kids.

Useful Knowledge, thanks for the comments! You absolutely should. Your kids will absolutely love it, especially the Beluga Whale. I became a kid when I was watching the whale.
