Get your Honeymoon Package for Free

Updated on March 17, 2011

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! You're planning your wedding, and maybe you and your intended have all the worldly possessions you need or could ever want, but the perfect honeymoon is just beyond your reach. What do you do? Read on...

1: The hottest trend in honeymoon planning is registering your trip just as you would register for gifts. If you have a fully stocked household already, why not have the trip of your dreams paid for by your well wishers?

2: Like any trip you are planning, make sure that you have all the information on your destination. Consider time of year; what is the weather like? Is your destination heavily frequented by families? Is this the atmosphere you wish to immerse yourself in during your honeymoon? Decide the location, time of year, and activities based on you and your intended's personality and expectations on how you will spend your time together.

Don't forget about passports, visa's and/or immunizations that may be required if you're traveling outside the U.S. These requirements will apply to cruises as well.

3: Even though you are registering your honeymoon where other people will be contributing to your trip, be conscious that the entire amount of your package may not be covered. This usually only happens when a couple goes for the ultra extravagant trip not taking into account that not all their guests may be giving the gift of their honeymoon. Any shortfall will have to be covered by you.

4: Shop around with different online honeymoon registries (some links are listed below,) but also comparison shop with regular travel stores. Just because the "honeymoon package" is targeted for a new couple doesn't mean that you'll get the most bang for your buck. For instance, how much more are you willing to pay flowers and champagne in your room? These romantic perks are nice but perhaps you would rather spend that money elsewhere. See if you can negotiate for a better deal. Click on the Honeymoon registry button here:

5: Once you find the honeymoon package of your dreams, register and notify your wedding guests just as you would a traditional registry. Honeymoon registries are great for milestone anniversaries too! Bon Voyage!
