Great Family Fun at Papio Fun Park in Omaha
Tell Us What You Think!
My family traveled to Omaha with our 9 year old granddaughter and her friend and treated them to a day at Papio Fun Park. While they didn't know what to expect, the idea of driving themselves in a go-kart really had them interested. On the way to the park, all we heard was, "How many more miles?" and, "Are we there yet?" When we left the park 6 hours later all we heard was, "Man. I wish we could go back there tomorrow!"
Good wholesome family fun is what can be found at Papio Fun Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The park has more than enough attractions to fill an entire day without all of the hassle of the long lines at larger amusement parks. Free admission, reasonable wristband prices and concessions are icing on the cake!

How Papio Fun Park Is Different From Other Amusement Parks
Some of the major differences I noticed about the park are:
- free admission
- choice in the level of play to purchase (not all or nothing)
- free parking
- reasonably priced concessions
- activities that promote physical activity
- no really long waits for rides and attractions
- attentive staff
Young and Old Enjoy the Thrill of Go-Kart Riding at Papio Fun Park
Young and old alike enjoy the thrill of a go-kart ride. At 8 years old and 50 inches tall children can ride alone! Kids younger than 8 can ride with a parent or adult. The quarter mile track is full of twists and turns which makes for lots of excitement.
Park staff instruct all drivers on safety before each ride begins. Seat belts are required and staff ensure that belts are used properly. I was a little concerned as my 9 year old grand daughter climbed in to her own go-kart, but the staff made sure she was belted correctly and could see well to drive. What a thrill it was to see her driving! I captured a great memory of she and her grandpa as he tried to pass her on a curve!

Laser Tag is a Popular Activity at Papio Fun Park
This is the one attraction we did not have a chance to try on our visit. However, I saw many kids and adults going in and out of the event. Each session of laser tag lasts 10 minutes and can be played individually or in teams.
Get Soaked Playing Water Wars at Papio Fun Park
Water wars is a water balloon fight on warp drive and is a great game for a hot summer day! Two players (or teams) stand opposite each other and are equipped with water balloons and a special elastic water balloon launching system. The object of the game is to soak your opponent!
Our girls loved this activity! It cooled them down but also provided some physical activity and determination to win. As time went on, our two girls had a water war with two boys in a "Girls Against Boys" competition. Let's just say our girls cooled off pretty well!
Concessions Are Reasonably Priced at Papio Fun Park
Sometimes just having a snack at an amusement park can cost as much as admission. I was pleasantly surprised to find the usual array of nachos, popcorn and soft drinks with reasonable prices. We were able to have a brief snack in the afternoon that didn't break the bank.
Mini Golf is Fun for the Entire Family
Mini golf is lots of fun for all ages. The 18 hole course at Papio Fun Park is fun and challenging. Participants take a tour of the United States as they play with stops at Hollywood, Las Vegas, The French Quarter of New Orleans, and more! At the starting point of each hole a brief description of the location and what it is known for is provided. So, the game is fun and educational as well!
Space Ball and Jump Shot Are Healthy Physical Activities
Space Ball and Jumpshot are both physical activities played on trampolines. Two opponents are separated by a barrier and must try to get the ball into the other team's hoop. So, kids (young and old!) are jumping and shooting and really having fun in this fast paced, high energy game! No trip to Papio Fun Park would be complete without trying these games!
