Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Updated on February 4, 2011

The Park

Here are some of my favorite pictures form the Great Smoky National Park. There is a lot of beautiful things to be seen at the park and with winter rearing it's ugly head, now seems like a great time to get outdoors. Enjoy the stroll through the park!

The old and the young

With moss growing on the trees north side, the tree reminded me of a mother hovering over her young to keep them safe.

Hiking in the park

The park has plenty of trails to hike but take your time. Some of the best treasures are the smallest flowers you will find.

Thank you Triciajean,As soon as I can, I will add some more pictures in the near future. The snow has been bad this year and that's why I broke out the park pictures. For me,it's a great way to get outdoors while hoping for warmer days.

Great pictures, W.K. Yes, I'm now thirsty for some clear mountain water. Yes, I want to play in the water, admire the tiny flowers, and walk the hidden paths. What a treat when our area is locked in snow. You hooked me.

I loved these! My favorite was "Man running on water". That was great!!

It's nice to be reminded of the beauty that is out there, but we often are too busy to notice.

These pictures are just beautiful... oh, and I DID get thirsty! :)

Hi Shyla's Nana...tubing is really huge in the park...people seem to really enjoy riding the tubes, cooking out or heading up to the falls. maybe one of these days I'll stop being lazy and hike to the falls to get some pics for this article.

Hi Rhonda...the park really is a great place to go and have fun. Folks like to tube down the river but I have better sense than sit in that cold water. LOL

These pics of the Great Smoky Mtns National Park are beautiful. My favorite on is of the stick man walking on the water. That was so cool. It is amazing what we can see in nature if only we will take the time to look. Looks like a place I would love to spend some time. Just wondering, are people allowed to go tubing there? Seems like that would be a fun thing to do in the summer. I bet that water is cold, even in the summer lol. Thank you for another great posting. Take care.
