Updated on January 29, 2011

Under Cover Boss

The Great Wolf Lodge will be featured on the upcoming episode of Under Cover Boss. See what happens when Kim Schaefer, the CEO of the this Resort, goes under cover at the Great Wolf Lodge.

The Great Wolf Lodge

If you are looking for a great place to take your family for vacation look no further than your closest Great Wolf Lodge. With 11 locations throughout the United States and one in Niagara Falls Canada, no matter if you live in the East Coast, Mid West or West Coast there is a Great Wolf Lodge within driving distance.

This Rustic Outdoors themed Hotel is one of a kind from an Indoor Water Park to a Kids Spa. At Christmas they even make it snow inside the lobby.

Some of the activities at Great Wolf Lodge include Restaurants, Shopping, MagiQuest, an Arcade, Mini Golf, Kids Spa, a Spa for the Adults. You can spend your entire vacation right in the Resort.

There's no time like a Great Wolf Time

Indoor Waterpark

It doesn't matter if you are planning your Summer Vacation, Spring Break or Winter Holiday the Great Wolf Lodge offers Year Round Fun for the Entire Family. That's because the main attraction of this kid friendly hotel chain is their Indoor Water Parks which are open year-round.

Rain or Shine this indoor waterpark is always at a perfect temperature to go swimming.

There are slides, both big, tall and fast ones for the adults and bigger kids as well as smaller and slower ones for the younger children. Some of the tubes for the slides actually wind outside the building and then back in.

There are several pools you can swim in or you can splash around in the surf of the Wave Pool. There are also lounge chairs and cabanas you can relax in. If you're in a large group make sure to reserve one of the cabanas ahead of time.

In the center of the waterpark there is a jungle gym type area with an obstacle course that the kids can play on. On top there is a Giant Bucket which slowly fills with water. Every couple minutes it dumps hundreds of gallons of water all over everyone who happens to be under it at the time.

MagiQuest at Great Wolf Lodge Water Park

MagiQuest

Another popular attraction for the kids at the Great Wolf Lodge is the MagiQuest Adventure Game. In this interactive media game the children run around the Hotel with special magic wands that let them complete quests in a mythical adventure game filled with wizards, knights, ferries, unicorns, and dragons. The kids have an amazing time playing MagiQuest and will be smiling ear to ear as they search the resort to find the next part of their quest.

You a Wand and an Adventure

MagiQuest costs around $30, for the wand and the game. However, you can spend much more on extras like tiaras for your little princess, shields and swords for your brave young warrior, hats and capes for your wizard apprentice, as well as gems to socket in their wands and many other accessories. These extras can add up fast, but at least they make for a great Halloween Costume afterwards. So if your looking for an excellent Princess, Knight, or Wizard Custom for your child make sure to check out the MagiQuest shop. The wands, capes and wizard's hats also make great accessories for Harry Potter Costumes.

Scoops at Great Wolf Lodge

Scoops Kids Spa

If your little girl is made of sugar and spice and everything nice, you can also pamper your Child at the Scoops Kids Spa at Great Wolf Lodge.

As the name implies, the Scoops is Ice Cream themed kids spa. They offers manicures and pedicures in different ice cream flavors.

Afterwords make sure to take a picture of your little one on the Banana Split shaped bench.

Not Just for Kids

There is plenty to do at Great Wolf Lodge. While the empathize of the Resort is focused on fun for the kids there are still things for the parents. Some of the things just for the adults include a Spa for the parents to unwind at as well as a bar for those over 21.

That place looks really cool, but the rates just seem kind of high to me. Maybe its because I live fairly close to one.

We absolutely love GWL. Great family getaway. Initially seems expensive but since the room rate covers the entertainment cost for your whole family for two days, it's not bad at all.
