How to Go to Kalanggaman Island

Updated on April 3, 2017

Kalanggaman Island

Kalanggaman Island is a small, white sand island that is still considered a part of the small town in Leyte, Palompon. In going there, you have to ride a small boat that will take you around 15 minutes ride only in going there.

Kalanggaman Island is already known in the whole Visayas. You will go there and you will really need a good camera as you will miss out how beautiful the place is without your camera.

The island is mostly of white sand. Only one side though is viable for swimming but the entire island is truly picturesque.

If it's your first time to go there, you will need to follow these steps in order to have a smooth flow of your trip going to Kalanggaman Island.

1. BOOK an APPOINTMENT - Why, because during the summer season, they have a lot of customers that go to this island and you need to book your name on the list that way, it will be easier for you to be assisted with the people in charge of Kalanggaman.

2. GO TO PALOMPON TOWN FIRST - Since Kalanggaman is part of Palompon, Leyte, it is only logical that you will pass by the town that is part and responsible for this island.

3. RIDE BY BOAT - Once your names are confirmed, go through the system that the Kalanggaman in charged people are imposing for your own safety. Ride the boat that is provided by the people in charge. They will need you to take only their boats that way they can account for whoever comes and goes in this island. Of course, because they are responsible for this island, whoever comes, they will be answerable as well.

They need you to wear the safety jackets while on the boat which is a MUST.

They will give you a BLACK bag for all the trash because you are not allowed to throw the trash just anywhere.

They need you to list down and register at their reception area because they MUST know who are going and coming to this island because they will be answerable to whatever happens to the island and to you most specially.

How was the Experience there?

Totally amazing and totally breathtaking. I got the summer tan is just minutes under the sun.

You can have a lot of activities over there, Kayak, boat riding, biking, snorkel but no surfing, hehehe...

I will really love to go back to this place.

ONE REMINDER though, do not go back when its afternoon time because the weather is not good for the boat ride. When we went there, we did and then we had to stop because it rained so hard that we thought we would not be able to cross it but then it stopped raining then we had to turn on the boat machine again and then we were home. The weather is good if its in the morning.

My sibling went back because this is surely one place to go back to.

The Experience was Fun
