How to find the cheapest accomodation in London and sleep like a King

Updated on July 10, 2011

Foreign people love to come to London for the fabulous shopping, the amazing royal parks, museums like Madame Tussauds and National Gallery, the Royals and the Beatles. Everyone has a good reason to visit this amazing city, particularly this coming month with The Royal Wedding event. However London is notorious to be a very expensive destination when it comes to choose accommodation and places to stay. 9 out of 10 people who have friends in London ask them to find a cheap hotel or an accommodation that wouldn’t be too expensive but pleasant at the same time. The usual question is “do you know an hotel, or bed & breakfast in London for a reasonable price?” The answer is YES! London offers some really very good packages that are affordable and meet the financial requests of everyone with a reasonable budget. In fact the offer is really wide in terms of availability of accommodation and if you are happy to be based around the centre of the city, this will cut your costs substantially. However even in zone 1 centre London you can find an affordable hotel from $ 115 per night to $165 ( double room with bathroom). A double room in a hostel accommodation starts from $ 85 but if you are happy to share your room with other people you can sleep for as little as $22 per night. Some examples, the Meinger Hotel very nearby Hyde Park offers double rooms with bathroom from $143 per night . Even better if you choose an accommodation in zone 2 where the prices will decrease considerably. In the lovely Bayswater nearby the famous Notting Hill the little hotel UMI London has got double rooms with bathroom for only $ 115. Even better if you choose an accommodation in areas that are outside the immediate centre but still in a very convenient and pleasant location like Chiswick West London or Swiss Cottage, North London. The very well connected transport system by tube and buses will allow you to be in centre London in less than half an hour and your budget will highly benefit from the saving you will make. Chiswick is a very nice and cosy area in West London, very conveniently located for Heathrow airport that has a wonderful choice of good restaurants and pubs. A bed and breakfast accommodation in Ivy Gate Guest house, in a twin room for 2 people, fully en-suite including breakfast, would be $114 per night . Prices in here will start from $81 per night minimum 2 night booking. For those who love funky accommodations and lively places the Generation Hostel in Russell Square, central London has been rated one of the best in the world, famous, also ,for its internal bar. Here backpackers all around the world can meet many others for an endless fun vacation in one of the most exciting city on earth.
