I love Cruising

Updated on August 4, 2017

I love Cruising

My first cruise was a birthday surprise given to me by my son. It was a three day cruise, which is a good amount of time for your first cruise, to see how you do on a big cruise ship. I was so excited, like a kid in the candy store. We sailed from Miami to Nassau. Granted I had bad knees and the walking was tough, but well worth the trip. I was so happy to spend time with my son, just him and I, like the old days. We did everything, the clubs, the shows, the fine dining. We won money, we went to see Atlantis. It was really great. I really enjoyed Carnival Cruise Lines. The service was excellent. I thought I may have a problem, because i do not swim well, looking at all that water, but it was so fascinating. The other ships, the night lights, people happy. I knew I was hooked. The next year I took another Carnival Cruise when some of my friends said they were going. I called my other friends and we all went. We left from Miami to Key West to Mexico. It was just as good, I had a private room, I won more money this time.  We all had so much fun. I did have a slight problem with some food I ate, and the funny thing was my ex-husband was on the same cruise line leaving from Tampa and our ships passed at sea. He also ate the same thing I did. I went to the medical place, and once I did that they would not let me off to see Mexico. I had eaten some bad potato salad or something, it was better the next day, but the rules are the rules.  The next year i am cruising again, with one girlfriend. The cruise was to The Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica. I already  spent a month in Jamaica, but another trip was okay with me. The trip would have been fine if my girl friend did not turn so miserable and unhappy. She liked nothing. The high point of this trip was winning about five thousand dollars. The cruise, itself was just as great as the other two cruises before. The weather was great, the food was great, the cabin was comfortable. the only problem I had was that my girlfriend , little did I know, did not know how to experience happiness at all. We had the tour of the Cayman Islands, and in Jamaica, the tour of the rain forest, and Dunn's Falls. We also went to "hell", this strange place where all the dark rocks grow. It was hot in Jamaica and I did experience some heat exhaustion, and the guide took very good care of me. This would be my last cruise with bad knees.  Last year I had  two partial knee replacements, and I will take my forth cruise. In this bad economy, and all the struggles  I have endured, the only thing that keeps me getting up, after being knocked down is the dream of my next cruise. Honestly, it would be nice to have a mate this time, it is a very romantic setting, to have someone next to me that I care for, and who cares for me.This would be the perfect touch. I have my passport, I need to improve my finances, but it will be possible. I will not give up adding another cruise picture to my wall. Only time will tell.........
