Ilocos Norte Philippines

Updated on November 11, 2012

My Ilocos trip with the family

Ilocos Norte is a province way up North of the Philippines. If you didn't know the Philippines is divided into 3 major states as called in American. Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Ilocos Norte is in Luzon.

My husband is part Ilocano, that what they call people who are from Ilocos. So when his family from Hawaii visits the Philippines everybody heads up to Ilocos where their ancestral home is from.

My first visit to Pasuquin was about 12 years ago. It was for Christmas and my husband's family was there. we rode the bus for more than 12 hours at night and it was a terrible experience because during that time the buses didn't have air-conditioning and some of the roads weren't even cemented. However, this time around the bus we road was awesome. It was fully air-conditioned, which made my whole body shiver so bad cause it was cold, and it even had it's own rest-room which was awesome.

Me and my two boys opted to ride the day trip which left the terminal at three in the morning. We slept the first few hours but woke up when the sun started to rise. We loved the province scenery and the stops along the way were interesting.

We all enjoyed the family's company and all the parties. We will definitely visit again to enjoy the beaches and other historical places. We only stayed 3 days so there weren't really much time to go around.

Will definitely visit soon though!
