Ios is the next Greek island that will shine in the coming years because of tourism development!

Reportedly, more and more Greek shipowners are buying huge swathes of the island of Ios, for tourism investments. Some say that the island over the next decade has been transformed and there are many who believe that tourism will change completely.

The island of Ios is an ideal place for non-stopping parties, day & night, non stopping drinking and that’s why some people cannot forget (and some others totally forgot), the moments they spend over there...

Don’t loose the opportunity in your life-time to spend some nights in Ios.

los (Nios) is 108 sq km in area and located at the south of Naxos, between Sikinos and Thera, has 81 km of coast and is about a hundred nautical miles from Piraeus.

Capital is los (Chora) with a population of 1,451 people. There are ferry lίnks with Piraeus and the ίslands of Paros, Naxos, Santorini, Sikinos and Pholegandros and of cource Herakleion in Crete.

The island in mythology was first settled by Phoenicians. It is also claimed to be the last place of Homer resting .

The island's capital is located in the centre of the west side. It is built on the site of the ancient city and is dominated by the mass of its medieval castle, built in the 14th century on the same spot as the ancient acropolis.

Capital city is a typical Cycladic town with dazzling white houses, narrow streets and many churches, outstanding among which are those of St. Catherine, erected on the site of the an ancient temple of Αροllο. The northern outskirts of Chora are delimited by a series of windmills.

On the north coast of the island, is ''Homer's Tomb" and the ruins of a Hellenistic tower. Special attention should be paid to the numerous chapels on the island which, according to local tradition, exceed 310 chapels.

Beaches of los such as Aghia Theodoti, Psathi, Kalamos, Manganari, Mylopotas, Ormos are ideal for swimming and fishing. For those with a private boat (lucky people) there are numerous bays with fantastic beaches. There are plenty of hotels and rend rooms all over island to cover all kind of visitors.
