Is Georgia on Your Mind?

The State of Georgia is vast and varied. You can travel to its coastal region and barrier islands and enjoy the sand, surf and seafood or kick back and relax as you sail on Lake Lanier. Are you flower person? Then there are the numerous nature attractions at Pine Mountain’s Calloway Gardens, the restored gardens of Newnan’s Dunaway Gardens, and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

Want a place to lay your head after a day of relaxation or rejuvenation? Then check out hotels like the Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta, peaceful bed and breakfast in virtually every town and the quaintness of many North Georgia cabin rentals. No matter where you roam there is sure to be something to delight and inspire you.

Depending on your interest, Georgia is sure to have somewhere to pursue your pleasures. For some, it is the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. After all, with dozens of shopping centers and malls, five star dining locations, and a nightlife that is always changing, Atlanta easily lives up to its nickname of , “Hotlanta”. If you love sports, then you can watch the Hawks or the Thrashers at Phillips Arena, see the Braves play at Turner Field or watch the Falcons at the Georgia Dome. If you like entertainment and the arts, then spend some time at the High Museum of Art or the Fox Theatre. Family fun can be found at Stone Mountain, Six Flags, or Zoo Atlanta-to name just a few locations.


If you are looking for relaxation at a slower pace, spend some time in Savannah, St. Simons, or other coastal towns. You will find beautiful beaches, historic lighthouses and antebellum homes along with splendid gardens and Spanish moss covered trees. There are quiet inns and B&Bs where you can find solace, renowned restaurants like Paula Dean’s The Lady & Sons, and an assortment of charter boats and piers where You can spend a day doing nothing more strenuous than casting a fishing line.

There fishing spots, sandy public beaches, canoe trips down the Okefenokee Swamp, and whitewater rafting along the Chattahoochee, Taccoa, and Flint Rivers. You can campout at a number of State Parks, hiking trails to explore in mountain regions of north Georgia. But no matter where you go in Georgia, you are sure to have fun.
