Research Centers focusing on wildlife, coral, and history and antiquities.
We stayed in Turneffe Atoll and they have a research center station through the Oceanic Society located on the Atoll that focuses on wildlife research, specifically Bottlenose dolphins and American Saltwater Crocodile. However the Turneffe Atoll Station also studies the ecology as a whole such as Loggerhead Sea Turtles, Migratory Birds, Marine wildlife, forests, plants, coral, and human impact on the ecosystem. They have also set up initiaves to protect the diverse ecosystem found in and around Turneffe Atoll.
