Want some drama and action in your romantic life? Wanna surprise your partner with a flash mob? If you are running out of ideas, do pay a visit to this unique theme park in Osaka where you can be a hero (or may be not) for a moment. Be it showing off your kicks or helping a dying person, you can fake a situation with the help of the staff here at this park.

Hirakata Park

Hirakata Park is located near the Hirakata train station in the city of Osaka in Japan. Started in 1910, this theme park has been in business successfully until today. There was a time when theme parks became a bit less popular due to demographic change and people showing lack of interest. However, Hirakata Park managed to raise its popularity by using different publicity tactics. Because of their unique ideas and commitment to entertaining visitors, it is known as one of the favorite places to visit in Osaka, along with the Universal Studios. The park is under the control of Osaka`s oldest railway company which infact built the first electric line between Osaka and Kyoto, Keihan.

Thug Life

When Hirakata Park went into losses, it finally decided to bring new funny themes to the old park. It has started a new promotion campaign called 'Hirapa Nisan' where it invites famous Japanese entertainers to hold shows or do performances to attract more visitors. One of such personalities who has tried to raise the brand value of the park is the famous actor and musician Junichi Okada. Currently, the park is running successfully; thanks to its unique campaign that is helping them to compete with bigger ones like the Universal Studios.

As part of their campaign which has pop culture elements as main crowd puller, it brought a flash mob service on their menu of entertaining things. This flash mob consists of real life actors who can recreate a movie like situation in public so that you can impress your girlfriend. They have mainly four interesting situations on their 'wanna-be hero menu' from which you can select one by booking in advance. All you have to do is take your girlfriend for visiting the park and let the story take place. Make sure your girlfriend doesn`t know about this beforehand, and let there be a surprise. The park released an ad where a thug walks upto a couple and lays his hand on the girl`s shoulder, making the guy furious and sucker-punch him. It got viral and caught the attention of even international media.

Flash Mobs

The flash mob idea garners not only interest but also skepticism. You may think that these things might misfire if not planned well; you might be wondering - What if your girlfriend freaks out and feels a bit embarrassed by all this public stunt? What if other onlookers join this drama? Well, if you do not want to take that risk, the park has more options from the menu such as saving someone`s life by donating blood, if you are interested. The flash mob idea is definitely a fun thing to do as it can be interesting to try on a nice day.

If you want to just enjoy the theme park and do not want to be a 'hero', there are plenty of other things to do at the park such as the blindfolded roller coaster rides, winter ice rink skating and many more. There are different types of fun activities to do at this park. You should visit this when you are in Osaka, as you can enjoy all the themes and experiences including beating up the thugs.

I'd love to have a go. Except, I have no gf. :(

That`s true! I think those actors will come back and tell her its a prank. Also, the whole environment is a bit light weighted, so I guess she wont get that mad hehe

Wow this is crazy. I can't imagine the thug option going down that well, especially if the girlfriend doesn't know about it. Best case scenario, she's really anxious for the rest of the trip because she thinks she'll be attacked. Worst case scenario, the relationship is over. However, the blindfolded roller coasters sound fun even if they sound scary.
