Lagos, Nigeria's Best Hospitals

Lagos is the most densely inhabited city of Nigeria. The city is the hub of economic activity in the nation. The greater metropolitan area is comprised of a series of islands featuring a lagoon and streams. There are both private and public hospitals which serve the people of Lagos.

Hygeia Nigeria runs Lagoon Hospitalsin two cities, one of them being in Lagos. Established in 1984, Lagoon Hospital is located at 11A Idejo Street, Victoria Island. Lagoon Hospital offers a high level of comprehensive medical care including primary care, health assessment, specialist care and preventive health screening facilities for the people of the city. The hospital provides treatment in a wide range of medical branches like internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, dermatology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, physiotherapy, cardiology, hematology, neurosurgery and thoracic surgery. Isalu Hospital started operations in 2004 with the goal of providing quality and modern medical facilities to local population. It is an important medical care provider and offers a host of services including a 24 hours ambulance service. It also offers immunization, surgical procedures, gynecological and maternity care, pediatric care, health screening and ultrasound facilities.

Lagos University Teaching Hospital maintains international standards and also serves as an important center for medical education. It is the largest medical university in Nigeria and is focused on continuous research and improvement of medical facilities in the country. The hospital provides comprehensive, prompt and modern medical care to the patients. The medical branches for which the hospital offers specialization are dentistry, neurosurgery, hemodialysis, cancer treatment, urology, maternal health, eye treatment and pediatrics. Parkland Specialist Hospital offers services and treatment for a variety of medical services and the staff at the hospital is well trained and highly skilled. The hospital has a twenty-four hour emergency services unit that has doctor in constant attendance.

The Reddington Hospital is a multidisciplinary hospital which initially started as the Cardiac Center. Subsequently it has expanded to become a comprehensive and state-of-art hospital to treat most health issues. The services offered include general surgery, orthopedics, trauma care, urology, nephrology, endocrinology, diabetes mellitus, gastro-enterlogy, radiology, ophthalmology, neurology, psychiatry and immunization. The hospital also runs various clinics like the Antenatal Clinic, Family Planning Clinic, Fertility Clinic, Dialysis Centre and Cardiac Centre and has Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care units.       Our health system in Nigeria is total crap and the hospitals are death holes, anybody who goes to a Nigerian hospital usually dies an uneccessary death and labelled as spiritual, the doctors and nurses cant own up for their own irresponsibilities.
