Laguna Beach Summer Fun

Summer is just around the corner and the artist colony of Laguna Beach has so much to offer! Whether you are making a day trip of it, or you are a tourist from out of town, Laguna Beach is a must for young and old!

Offering breath-taking ocean views, sunsets, and sunshine, this seaside town is well known for its annual Sawdust Festival and Pageant of the Masters. The Pageant of the Masters is set for July 7th, 2010 through August 31, 2010. http://www.foapom.com/

The Sawdust Festival offers arts and crafts of local artisans -  glass blowers, wood carvers, sculpture, jewelry, just to name a few.  AND you will be pleasantly surprised at some of the ridiculously low price tags!

The Pageant of the Masters 2010 theme is "Eat, Drink, and be Merry.  Read the press release  here ~  http://foapom.com/news/viewarticle.asp?ID=310  "Living pictures" are portrayed by volunteer cast members of all ages and sizes.  The casting call is usually sometime in January, so mark your calendar and you too, can step back into time and make a debut in "tableaux vivants."  No experience is necessary and you can also volunteer for wardrobe, make-up, or headdress.

      Suny - Thanks for the comment. I am sure that must be another awe-inspiring place. My photo was actually taken in the Antelope Valley of Southern California. The area is famous for the state flower, the poppy.

      This is a fun travel hub. I visited San Diego last summer but only made it north to Oceanside. I don't live near the beach any more, so I'd love to see more photos.

      This sounds as though attending those festivals would be lots of fun. Those California Poppies are truly beautiful especially when massed as the ones in your avatar photo.
