Tour from Las Vegas to Red Rock Canyon in a Scooter Car

Red Rock Canyon tour by Scooter Car was one of the tours we went on last summer (2010) when we were in Las Vegas, something you may want to try out if you are ever in the area.

If riding on a 3 wheel cycle does not scare you too much it's worth the view. This Go Cart type thing seats two people, there are weight restrictions because of the size of these Scooter Cars. We did get some decent photos out of the tour and my spouse liked driving this little contraption. One thing I must admit is that you do get an unobstructed view from this seated position and you don't have to worry about falling off. If you let go on a motorcycle you would have to be more wary if you do not have a supporting backrest.

At the beginning and the end of this tour you do drive these vehicles on a regular traffic roadway with standard autos, once you're in the Red Rock Canyon you don't have to deal with opposing traffic, it's all one way through the tour. As you will see in the third photo helmets are not mandatory at this time, but they are available should you want one.

I did some checking and if you don't want to go to Red Rock Canyon you can also do a tour of Downtown Vegas and the Strip via Scooter Car. Next time we go to Vegas we may check out the tour of Downtown Vegas with a Scooter Car.

Striking colors, the variance of color was very pleasing to my eyes.

What you see on the Tour?

The tour takes approximately three hours, they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, they also provide you with drinking water you will need. Try to take the first tour of the day if you are going in the summer, it's not as hot then.

I thought the scenery was fabulous, the colors of the hills are very unique. There is a vast amount of history behind these hills and how they were formed, if you would like to know more about the Geology on these hills I would recommend going to this site.

If you've never been to see this Canyon I would highly recommend it. If you don't want to go in a Scooter Car, there are other tour companies that go out there or you can rent a car as well. I will admit I was a bit scared in the Scooter Car, it does wobble a bit on some parts of the road that are grooved or should I say have worn in tracks from traffic.

If it were not for my spouses motorcycle experience we likely would not have chosen this method of viewing the Red Rock Canyon. My spouse drove the Scooter Car and we played follow the leader all the way so there was no risk of getting lost. I must say he has a motorcycle license and we do have a motorcycle at home as well so he is skilled at driving this type of transportation. Please note that you do not need to have a motorcycle license to drive these Scooter Cars, just a valid Driver's License from whichever country you are from.

All in all I would say it is an adventure I will never forget, there were great views to behold and testing out the Scooter Car was unique to us. Take your camera, bring lots of water, wear the right clothing and apply sunscreen to exposed skin. Last but not least relax and enjoy the views, make sure you take advantage of all the Photo Opportunities... I hear there are often Wild Burros around, we missed that opp but if you see them make sure you get a photo or two.

Where to go after this Tour & back in Las Vegas?

Summary of the Red Rock Canyon by Scooter Car -The Tour company picked us up on time, provided us with plenty of water, were very informative and had decent personalites. I would honesty say that if your are an outdoorsy, cycle type person, highly recommended this tour, takes only 3 hours of your time.

Make sure you take in the other special attractions in Las Vegas, starting with the Secret Garden.

Thanks for the input Kathy, sorry I didn't realize there was a comment here earlier. When the weather is decent in the Red Rock Canyon it's great to see the views from the seat of a Scoot Car.

They will come and pick you up in Las Vegas, give them a call, a great bunch of guys. When we went they picked us up at our hotel and drove everyone over to where their place of business is and we drove out to Red Rock from there. Have fun, it's a great way to see the Red Rock Canyon.

A very interesting hub! We've been to the Red Rock Canyon too, but we didn't see it the way you did from a scooter car. Glad you enjoyed your visit, too!
