Learning to Dive

This sport is a great way to get outside and it is a great way to enjoy the water and see some history while you are at it. Scuba diving is a great way to get to enjoy the underwater world. I was very fortunate to have a great trainer who was patient with me and made sure that I was comfortable with each step no matter how big or insignificant each step may seem. I had an incident where as a child, I almost drowned in a pool. That did not stop my love for the water. If anything it made it greater. In scuba diving, there is a reason for doing each step in order that has to be done. Scuba diving is one step based on the other that, if one step is done wrong, something else can happen down the road.

Everything is based on being careful, safety is first, the next thing is to stay calm and always breath. Do not hold your breath.

I feel very fortunate to have the trainer that I had during my training. He had a true passion for diving that I think that you must possess in order to devote the time and effort it can take to dive. To become good at anything you must take the time o learn it. Practice makes perfect.

The first thing that is needed is to find a certified instructor. I did quite a bit of research before I picked my instructor. For the first few meetings, all of our work was done in the classroom. We learned all of the basic diving rules. Whoever you are receiving training from will provide you a place to practice your diving techniques.

Don't worry about age, while learning to dive. There are many age groups that are certified to dive each day. You will be asked to fill out a form that reveals your medical conditions and if there are any that they are sure about, then you will be required to get clearance from the doctor's office.

Diving is relatively easy to do as long as you are interested in learning to do it. All it takes is practice which is easy to do because learning to dive is very fun. When learning to dive they teach you in a swimming pool before you actually get in natural waters such as the ocean or river.

Scuba Basics

Truly there are some rumors out there that scuba diving is dangerous.

In my opinion, scuba diving has risks but, if the diver is trained properly a student will handle any situation that comes along with the training. Training begins in the pool in the dive shop before you ever hit the ocean.

There are dive shops all over Alabama and Florida and other places where diving is more prevalent. Each of these shops can tell you about diving locally. They would be able to tell you things like: the type of fish in the area, wildlife. They can also give you a hint on the best diving spots in the area that you can visit while traveling there. Always dive with a partner for protection.

Scuba diving can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you make it, as with any other hobby.

Enjoying the Sport

It is important to enjoy scuba diving. The ability to glide through the water and swim with the fish is absolutely amazing to me. Just knowing the basics of scuba with just a beginner training course is ideal. This will teach you the basics of scuba and explain just the basic equipment that you will need to buy to get started. Some of the basic equipment that is needed is a BC, fins, boots, tank, wet suit, As with any hobby, you can spend as much, or as little as you want to spend. Also another rule is that if you get what you pay for. Avoiding cheaply made things, can save you some headaches in the end. Another small piece of advice is to make sure that if there's a warranty on an item, then that item is generally going to be the best of all of the brands..Always have all emergency items on hand when diving.

Try Scuba

When picking out a place to learn to take lessons it is good to look locally to see if you have a dive shop in your area. If you do, they will be a wealth of information as far as who to learn to dive through, they can organize trips and book them for you. Training at the facility is also offered and when you are ready to try out the skills part of the course, they have a gigantic indoor pool to train in. Scuba equipment is stored on site for anyone who wants The Scuba Experience. Also equipment is sold on site so that you can try and buy at the same time. Staying relaxed and calm is one of the first things you are taught Bryan instructed. Safety is always the number one concern for all divers.

Great Hub. I started out as a SCUBA Diver and did my AOWD in Indonesia. The quiz could be a little bit more challenging, don't you think? ;-)
