Marina Bay Sands. (Scariest Swimming Pool)?

Updated on October 25, 2012

Marina Bay Sands now open

The new hotel complex in Singapore has just opened it's doors. It features the Sky Park which is located on the top of the three hotel tower blocks to the £4 billion complex.

Shaped on top like a boat, the massive expanse boasts what I think could be the scariest swimming pool in the world. Infinity pool to die for. What do you say?

Imagine what the view would be like at 55 storeys high looking out over the edge of the pool and not being able to see the ground below.

It is without exception probably the most stunning hotel complex I have ever seen. The architect must have had many sleepless nights whilst he or she was designing it.

The largest outdoor pool in the world

At 650ft up this is the largest outdoor swimming pool in the world at it's height....55 storeys high.

Scariest Pool Ever?

Source

This has got to be the scariest yet most beautiful pool in the world. At around £350 per night you will get a lot of Singapore for your money at that height.

Relax in the pool

I would like to be able to say that the picture below is me and the wife relaxing in the pool, but, I can't. They are obviously models doing promotional pictures for the grand opening

In the pool

This hotel boasts 2,550 rooms. It has an indoor canal, casino, outdoor plaza, convention centre, crystal pavillion and lotus flower. The pool area of the hotel is cleverly designed and boat shaped. The pool is the size of three olympic swimming pools.

Hubbers convention.

What do you reckon fellow hubbers should we book it for a convention when we all make millions? LOL!

You have to admit it is one tasty location.

Infinity pools give the effect that the water extends to the horizon. In reality, the water spills over the edge into a catchment below, and is then pumped back into the pool. The pools have two circulation systems. The first functions like that of a regular pool, filtering and heating the water in the main pool. The second filters the water in the catch basin and returns it to the upper pool.

Bet you would love it there. And what about the kids?

    Thanks for the comments.

I appreciate you taking the time.

Yes our Summer is on the wane here in the UK.

Not been such a spectacular one but last few winter's have been perishing. Autumn is a nice time of year though.

...quite breathtaking what human ingenuity can come up with - although I would only go into this pool if Alastar Packer was the lifeguard - lol - and I thank you for this wonderful gem of a hub idea - and so very nice to meet you.

That is an incredible hotel and swimming pool! It looks like one could fall off it. Never seen anything like. My gosh the whole of it 4 billion pounds! It'd be tempting to go to Singapore just to stay there. Thanks for this info & look poshcoffeeco.
