Mt. Mayon Volcano

Mayon Volcano

Populary known as Mt. mayon , the most active volcano in the Philippines. Located in the province of Albay in the Bicol Region on the island of Luzon, Philippines. Mt. Mayon is also described as "perfect cone" because of its symmetrical conical shape. Is most active among the active volcanoes in the Philippines having errupted over 49 times in the past 400 years.

One very destrcutive erruption of this volcano which I personally can't forget is the Noverber 30, 2006 erruption during the thypoon Reming, during the thypoon, the Mayon volcano also errupted causing massive destruction in Legazpi City, Albay and errased the barangay Padang in the map of Legazpi.

I was in second year college at that time, and our school (Aquinas University Rawis Legazpi City) was very affected. We can see so much mud everywhere. It affected our classes for a month. There were news about some students from our school being trapped and killed inside thier dormitories by the mudslides.

Though Mayon Volcano can cause damaged during erruption, it is also considered as tourist attraction. A very beautiful scenery. Many tourist destination are built for the perfect view. One of which is the development of ligñon hill. Up the hill is one of the perfect views of Mayon. They also add ziplining activities to add the enjoyment of the tourists.
