The Amazing Munnar

Munnar is an incredibly beautiful tourist place in the Idukki district, Kerala. It is is one of the most popular travel destinations in India. Munnar is called as the Kashmir of South India. It looks like a paradise in the earth.

The name Munnar is came from two Malayalam words - 'Munnu'(moonnu) means three and 'aaru' means river, as it is situated at the confluence of three rivers - Muthirapuzha(Kannimalayar), Kundala and Nallathanni. Munnar is located at a height of 1600m above sea level. Temperature in Munnar ranges from 0°C to 28°C.

Munnar is very famous for tea farms and its natural beauty. Some of the biggest tea plantations in the world are in Munnar. Munnar is also famous for the exotic flower – 'Neelakurinji', which in flowers every 12 years and change the mountains of Munnar looks like coverd with a pretty purple carpet.

Munnar is a very good tourist place for honeymoon couples, nature, wildlife and adventure lovers.

      Hi vinum, I didn't go to munnar but went to kodaikanal instead in Tamil nadu. I imagine they are similar but munnar looks really nice.
