Must-see destinations on every continent

Updated on August 10, 2012

There are must-see destinations on every continent, and one way of being able to afford to go to far-flung places is to try a home exchange through a site like http://www.lovehomeswap.com. Here you can find more information on how to do so.

The pyramids in Egypt, the Great Wall of China and Christ the Redeemer are just three of the world’s most famous landmarks, but in every continent there are attractions that should definitely be on your list. In this guide you’ll find suggestions of some of the best.

Excitement in Europe

Europe is home to incredible capital cities and exciting destinations. Head to Paris to check out the Michelin starred restaurants and famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower. Visit Rome for cultural sites such as the Colosseum, or go to Berlin to feel the history of the Berlin Wall and Brandenburg Gate.

Awe-inspiring Africa

Africa is full of amazing destinations that will leave you with life-long memories. Go on Safari in Kenya to see wild animals in their natural habitat, visit the Pyramids and Sphinx in Cairo, Egypt, and head for Zambia to see the breathtaking Victoria Falls. South Africa is another must-visit destination and it has plenty of stunning sites with World Heritage Site status, including Kruger National Park.

Sightseeing in South America

If you’re going to South America, a trip to Rio is a must. You can soak up the atmosphere of the Rio Carnival, chill out on Copacabana beach, and scale the heights to see the awesome statue of Christ the Redeemer. Buenos Aries in Argentina is a must-visit too, and for a spectacular sight you want to head to Peru to take the Machu Picchu trek.

The American dream

There are endless things to do in North America! Go shopping in New York, head for the thrills and spills in Las Vegas or marvel at the beautiful landscapes in Alaska. California is a hugely popular destination, with cities including San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles all pulling in the visitors. Head to Arizona and you can stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon.

Australian adventures

Australia and New Zealand are fantastic if you fancy an adventure. You could stay in Sydney, where you’ll find the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, or head off the beaten track and take a trip to visit Ayers Rock. Cross the waters into New Zealand to visit Auckland and Christchurch, and explore national parks such as Abel Tasman and Fiordland.

Asian amazement

Thailand is really popular among western tourists, especially those looking to experience the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and the stunning beaches on Koh Samui. The continent is also home to plenty of the world’s most visually amazing attractions too, including the Taj Mahal in India and the incredible Great Wall of China.

WHy Alaska? Couldn't have been somewhere in Northern Canada?? But no, you have to specifically choose only places in the USA. There are places in NA besides the US..... like what about Mexico? An absolutely beautiful country. At least a single destination in North America's other 22 countries(besides the US) should have been mentioned! This post actually just proves how ignorant some Americans can be. You should have just dropped the North in North America since the rest of the continent clearly doesn't exist to you...
