My holiday at Kefalos Beach Tourist Village – Paphos, Cyprus

Updated on May 31, 2014

As I said in the summary I really don’t’ write review on hotels or resorts very often and I will try to do this one some justice as I really enjoyed my stay at Kefalos Beach Tourist Village, which is located on the outskirts of Paphos in Cyprus, on the Tomb of the Kings road.

Friends of mine had booked a cheap package deal and were staying at Damon Apartments, which although over the road has full use of the facilities at Kefalos Beach.

The resort is beautifully located in a scenic setting overlooking the azure Mediterranean and in total harmony with its surroundings; it blends together everything you would expect from a purpose built resort - with the ambiance and charm of a village. Located on the beach next to the renowned archaeological areas of Paphos - the UNESCO Park with its mosaics, the Venetian Pathos Lighthouse and the Tombs of the Kings.

There is a rocky beach directly in front of the resort and to the left of the resort is a sandy beach, with a go kart track as well!

The accommodation was spacious and my sea front apartment gave me stunning views of a palm tree lined beach front, large lawns, numerous sun beds to relax on, and daily entertainment, dining facilities by the beach, and a playground area with kids’ facilities.

The Kefalos Holiday Village consists of 249 beautiful apartments situated on 30,000 Sq m (7.4 acres) of prime beach front real estate. An environment has been created that conveys an atmosphere of space and then tastefully decorated it in traditional Cypriot colours to give you a true feeling of Cyprus. Large balconies overlooking spectacular gardens and beautiful stone pathways all leading to the beach.

In my apartment it was fully equipped for self-catering so I could enjoy both the freedom of creating my own meals with fresh local Cypriot produce, or take advantage of the services and amenities associated with a four star hotel.

The room had independent air-conditioning and heating system (split unit), hair dryer, Satellite TV / Radio, fridge, electric stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, equipped kitchen, direct dial telephone, safety deposit box and comfortable furnishings.

The pool was fantastic and I found myself often, swimming in the pool then taking a few cocktails and then sleeping while listening to the Mediterranean Sea gently caressing the rocky shoreline. Total relaxation! For those with a little more energy you could join the aqua-aerobics classes or hire a boat or jetski!....not for me the cocktails were far too nice.

For those that wish to escape the Sun there is also an indoor pool which is heated in the winter months.

Other facilities included children's pool, tennis court, mini-golf, mini-football, basketball and beach volleyball. A range of organised daily activities were also available, such as stretching, water polo, beach volleyball, aqua-aerobics, water volleyball, French boules, mini-football, archery, table tennis and scuba diving demonstrations. Scuba diving lessons are also available and you can take part in a variety of watersports situated on the beach.

The evening’s entertainment was great fun too and included Karaoke, Cypriot folklore show, discos, traditional Greek dancing, bingo, quiz, live shows, fire show, kids disco and live music.

For food I spent a lot of time in the Arodafnousa Buffet Restaurant it is a spacious restaurant overlooking the pool and sea, offering a great spot to start your day with excellent breakfast buffets too!

During the evening there was a selection of magnificent themed buffets with an abundance of hot and cold starters, salads and main dishes as well as tempting display of desserts.

All in all I could not fault the Kefalos Beach Tourist Village, I booked it through Hotels in Cyprus and it was without doubt a great two weeks break in Cyprus.
