The Very Best of New Orleans

A 40th Anniversary Celebration, Delicious Food and Beautiful Scenery Made Our Trip Worthwhile
New Orleans, Lousiana was a perfect getaway for my family after the onslaught of disasterous news stories which loomed in all our lives. The horrific events such as Sandy Hook Elementary, politicians consume us with fiscal cliff dilemmas, an increase of gun violence within the United States and the unfortunate remnants of Hurricane Sandy. These predicaments along with other weighty issues, contributed to a desperately needed getaway with family and friends.
Aaron and Ladine Montgomery, who reside in #New Orleans, Lousiana extended an invitation we could not refuse. They are not only very good friends but our families have genuinely become one big family. After 40 years of marriage, they were celebrating this special milestone in their lives. We wanted to be there to share this splendid occassion with this amazing couple along with their three daughters, Aaronda, Sharronna and Aarika. Grant, the husband of Aaronda along with their two children Gabby and Gia were also present. Sharronna's husband Devon, along with their son Devon, Jr., attended this very special celebration as well.
Airfare could have been a hinderance for our plans because it was extremely high due to the holidays. We therefore decided to drive down to New Orleans for this promontory event. This would give my family an opportunity to spend time together which is always rewarding. It took us about 19 hours as we travelled through the beautiful #Smoky Mountain areas of Virginia and North Carolina. Some of the mountainous driving was breathtaking. We also travelled on the border of such beautiful states as Georgia, Alabama and Tennesee. Upon our arrival in Tennesee, it was time for rest and a well deserved sit down meal at Cracker Barrel, our favorite location for family travel. With four drivers within our family,19 hours was not as difficult as it could have been. Each of us took turns of about four to five hours of individual driving. During those long hours my husband Walker and two daughters Wanisha and Jaleesa, had family discussions and Bible studies. When our bodies became weary we slept. This type of trip to New Orleans, strengthened our #family bonds as we got to spend precious time together.
In New Orleans, We saw God's Beautiful Creatures
The video that precedes this article beautifully displays the magnificent works of our Grand Creator Jehovah God based on Genesis 1:21 which states, "And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarned forth according to their kinds, . . ." (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures) It was awe inspiring to see and hear young and old respond joyfully to the boundless sea creatures that are featured at New Orleans' Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. The aquarium is located adjacent to the #French Quarter, at 1 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. It is described as "a stunning place to spend an afternoon in downtown New Orleans. Walk beneath the vivid Caribbean Reef, feed a stingray, or journey the Mississippi River, Penguins, stingrays, sharks and other deep-sea creatures await your visit at the Aquarium." Do not forget to stop on the second level to view the Parakeet Pointe and "Feed a parakeet in this lush habitat." Next door if it is your desire to experience beautiful visual effects, visit #Entergy IMAX Theatre.
All of these exquisite creatures were created by our celestial #Heavenly Father Jehovah for mankind's interest and enjoyment. What an omniscient God we serve. We attended the aquarium on Friday. On Saturday, the anniversary celebration was scheduled which we anticipated with genuine excitement. Recently, New Orleans was recognized as one of the top locations in the nation for making movies. The location and climate appears to be perfect for the #movie industry.
In New Orleans We Attended A Forty Year Wedding Anniversary Celebration
Thousands of years ago, our superlative Heavenly Father created man. Jehovah God then performed a mind-blowing surgical procedure where he removed the rib from man and created woman. She was then brought to the man where the first divine institution of marriage was performed. This alluring union of man and woman called marriage, would inspire them "to live together as husband and wife according to the standards set out in the Holy Scriptures." (Reasoning from the Scriptures) This very personal and intimate relationship would allow husband and wife to establish a sense of security and personal commitment by both individuals. The sacred institution of marriage constituted by Almightyv God, would "provide a close companion who would be a complement of man but also to make provision for producing more humans and doing so within a family arrangement."
The marriage must be legally registered which is acceptable to our Heavenly Father Jehovah God and the Christian congregation, under the headship of #Jesus Christ. Aaron and Ladine Montgomery became husband and wife more than 40 years ago and fulfilled these ambrosial requirements as they maintained an unending love for each other. It was a privilege to witness their resplendent love along with their family and friends.
The celebration of this forty year divine institution for Aaron and Ladine consisted of delectable food and entertainment. It was held at the Regency located in New Orleans. The evening started with a multitude of scrumptous appetizers delivered right to your table by waiters. Shrimp Le John, pig in the blankets, fried fish as well as an array of other appetizers were served. Dinner consisted of jambalaya, etouffee, baked and fried chicken, country ham, rice, string beans, tossed salad and a potatoe bar. There was also an open bar with margaritas along with various juices and drinks. Beautifully decorated, red and black cakes were displayed for dessert. Red and black were Ladine and Aaron's colors for the evening.
Delicious food was abundant during our visit to New Orleans. Our first evening in town involved a sumptuous meal of baked oven crusted chicken with green beans and rice. Southern hospitality was truly appreciated as we were also invited for another home cooked meal of spareribs, rice, chicken and a variety of deserts and juices before we got on the road to return home. Earlier, we that Sunday morning we all worshipped together at the local Kingdom Hall. Some of the best food we had during our visit to New Orleans was the home cooked meal we shared with Ladine and Aaron. What a wonderful blessing our Grand Creator has given us through our wondrous ability to taste and eat delicious food.
The inspirational celebration of forty years of marriage for Aaron and Ladine did not just encompass good food. There was also a selection of stupefying talent. Friends and family members performed such major hits as Just My Imagination, by a smoothe group of zealous brothers with steps just like The Temptations . Midnight Train To Georgia by Gladys Knight, was performed by me without the amazing voice. You're All I Need, was nicely performed by their daughter Sharronna and her husband Devon. A very talented group of brothers with amazing moves immitated #The Jackson Five. You Can't Hurry Love, was exquisitely performaned by Aarika, Aaron and Ladine's youngest daughter along with two other friends. It was an evening of pure love and enjoyment as each group sang to the couple. After the performances, everyone danced in celebration of this marvelous event.
Imagine the elation our Heavenly FatherJehovah must feel, when he beholds his awesome creations such as the stunning sea monsters and flying creatures of the heavens on display at the aquarium for humans to investigate for their pleasure. The jubilation Almighty God must feel when couples such as Aaron and Ladine Montgomery, fulfill forty years of happiness within the divine institution of marriage established by their Grand Creator. Within this powerful arrangement they produced children who love Jehovah God and their savior, Jesus Christ. How thankful each of us are for the ability to taste delectable food whether it is in New Orleans or wherever. What contentment and thanks we should demonstrate, for our merciful, kind and loving Creator who provides so many blessings for us on a daily basis. For a brief and desperately needed getaway, my family truly enjoyed the best of New Orleans, thanks to Jehovah and the loving kindness of Aaron and Ladine. Please do not forget the beautiful photos within this article.
