NYC Corporate Housing

New York City has always been one of the centers of the business world in this country. People from all over the U.S. travel there for reasons related to their work. Some of these people include consultants, individuals on special assignments, government employees and military personnel, and transferred  or relocated employees.

In the past, finding a place for these folks to stay was often problematic. Sure, New York City offers a multitude of hotels for guests, but, for people who are going to be there for an extended period of time, this is not always the best option. Hotels are great for vacations but they are a little impersonal for business travelers. Plus, the hassle of checking in and out combined with not having a regular phone number can interfere with the purpose of your visit. Apartments are of course available in the city but these too present some difficulties. Most landlords want their tenants to sign a long term lease, which for individuals on a short term assignment, is not a realistic choice.

New York City corporate housing provides a great alternative to hotels and apartments for many reasons. With corporate housing, people get more space at a lower price. The extra space typically includes a regular sized kitchen as opposed to the small kitchenettes which are common in hotels. The furniture can be changed to fit the needs of whoever is using the space. For instance, if an individual requires a home office then the appropriate furniture can be brought in so they can work in an environment that feels like home. Amenities like a washer and dryer as well as the option to have pets are other ways that corporate housing makes people feel like the space is their own. Additionally, these dwellings also offer a personal mailbox so that guests do not have to wonder whether they are getting important documents.

From a monetary perspective, corporate housing is usually the better way to go. One reason this is true is because the standard hotel tax does not apply when a person is staying for over thirty days. Corporations also benefit from a no hassle direct billing system. All in all, corporate housing in New York City is an excellent alternative to impersonal hotel rooms and the difficulties of securing a short term lease on an apartment.
