Pattaya Beer Bars And Gogo Clubs

Updated on July 5, 2013

Pattaya Thailand is known for extreme nightlife, and a major part of that is the beer bars and gogo clubs that cover the city…and of course the pretty Thai girls that hangout there. The bar and gogo club scene in Pattaya can be a little overwhelming for some new travelers, but once you get your feet wet the first time you’ll be trying to figure out your next trip back.

Pattaya is definitely a destination of choice for the single male traveler.  Although in recent years Thailand has tried to attract a more family oriented crowd, they are still in the minority.  If you are looking for nice beach resort to take your family too in Thailand, there are plenty better to be found in Phuket and Koh Samui.  Pattaya is a place for the single man; he often rarely sees the beach, as time spent on holiday in Pattaya is often a nocturnal activity.  Pub crawling the many bars and go-go’s throughout the Soi’s.

Even though you can find beer bars all over Pattaya, there are really just a few main areas with the highest concentration of activity.

Soi 6 Bars

During the day the action is on Soi 6. Often refereed to by other names such as Soi sexy, this is the center of daytime Pattaya beer bars activity. Lined with bars and go-go’s from Beach Road to Second Road it starts getting going in the early afternoon and continues on till late at night. This are is mainly made of short-time bars and a few go-go clubs.

As you walk down the street you will be greeted by the call of ‘hey hansum man, or hey sexy man…’. Girls will jump off their chairs in front of their bars and meet you in the street to try to get you to come into their bar and have a drink. It is an experience unlike any other, and some refer to it like walking a gauntlet. It’s not for everyone, but a lot of men enjoy the seedier side of this Pattaya Soi 6.

Walking Street Bars

This little trip of road has gained international recognition for the nighttime entertainment on offer here. In the late afternoon the section of Beach Road is closed to vehicle traffic and is only open to pedestrians till early in the morning, hence the name walking street.

Bright neon lights, loud music pumping from the clubs, are just some of the things that make it an assault of sights and sounds. Pattaya Walking Street is lined with bars, gogo clubs, dance clubs, restaurants, shops, and souvenir stands. Pattaya gogo bars are filled with beautiful Thai girls attract the single male traveler like a moth to a flame. It is a must see location for many tourists as well, as it can be such an overwhelming experience.

Walking Street and Soi 6 are the main nightlife entertainment areas in Pattaya. However you can find bars, clubs, gogo’s, and discos throughout the city. The majority are between Beach Road and Soi Buakhao. Little bars and larger beer bar complexes line just about every road.

If you want some more resources on what to do in Pattaya, check out some of the other hubs published on the city.

Pattaya is known for its beer bars and gogo’s, and for good reason. It has some of the craziest and fun nightlife I’ve seen. If you’re headed that way, you’re in for a good time.
