Batangas City

Batangas City- is the first class city in the province of Batangas Philippines. It is well known as the "Industrial Port City of Calabarzon." It is located in southwestern part of Luzon in the CALABARZON region. The town was named "Batangan" because huge logs, locally called "batang", abounded in the place.

Batangas is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Metro Manila. It is a combination of plains and mountains, including the world's smallest volcano, Mt. Taal. The province has many beaches and is famous for excellent diving spots.

Taal Volcano

One of the most favorite spots was Taal Volcano. If you want to go in Batangas then this is one of the most recommended place. It is located in the town of Talisay or Tagaytay City whose ridge gives a panoramic view of Volcano Island. This volcano is well known to be the world's smallest active volcano and it's surrounded by a lake. It represents an attractive views in the Philippines. You can also do a hike in Taal Lake. This place is also ideal for trekking.

Sadly, this beautiful small active volcano erupted just this year (January 12, 2020 Sunday). Thousands of families who lives nearby was affected and cause a lot of damage. The ash-fall from Taal Volcano had reached Metro Manila. Actually, when I woke up early in the morning (January 13, 2020 Monday), the outside of our house was full of ashes even in the streets. Many people are cleaning their vehicles and other things that are affected by the ash-fall. As of now, It's under observed by Phivolcs.

Isla Verde

Isla Verde or also known as The Virgin Island. Located between Batangas and Mindoro. It is called virgin because tourism is very rare in this place. It was also declared as "The Center of the Center of the Marine Biodiversity in the World" which means that it is rich in marine life. One of the most beautiful island in Batangas which has clear waters with lots of amazing seashells.

Me and my friends went here last March 2018 to enjoy our vacation. We had fun taking pictures and we did a little walking to tour the beautiful island. During that time, our budget isn't as much as the other tourists so we didn't do an island hopping. There are lots of things to do when you want to go in this place as long as you have enough money to do some activities like island hopping, snorkeling, and diving. To get here, you have to ride a boat that leaves Tabangao port by 8:00 am onward because that's the time that the boat will go to Isla Verde.

Be reminded that the waves here are big and strong so be careful when you swim.

Mount Maculot

A mountain located in the town of Cuenca in Batangas province. One of the highest, favorite, and popular among mountain trekkers and campers. The major tourist attraction of the municipality. The view of Taal Lake from above will entice your efforts more than you expect it to. If you plan to go here on weekend, there are lot of locals selling drinks and food to the hikers.

It was said that the mountain is sacred to Christians because yearly on holy week thousands of pilgrims from different towns and provinces climb the mountain as a form of repentance. From Manila, you can ride a bus going to Lemery from Buendia then you can drop off at Cuenca.

Fortune Island

A resort island located in Nasugbu, Batangas which used to be a private. The solemnity of the place will make you feel relax. Approaching this beautiful island, you will notice the Parthenon-inspired structure that would give a tourist a taste of Athenian ruins. Visitors are possible to climb the limestone cliff in which you'll see the magnificent views of the sea. The activities you can do here are site tour, swimming, snorkeling, and cliff diving. You can also see the San Diego Warship Museum with a complete replica of the San Diego Galleon (Spanish ship wrecked).

Mount Pico De Loro

Mount Pico De Loro or also known as Mount Palay-Palay and Parrot Beak. It has a mountainous and amazing views because of its peak. This popular hiking destination was rehabilitated to accommodate hikers. Those who are looking for adventures, the rock peak is challenging and thrilling. It requires a bit of courage, but once you completed, it is something that you will be proud of. If you want to go here, you need to schedule your hike because the number of hikers is monitored to ensure not to damage the trail.

Note: There are sources that this mountain is also located in Cavite, Philippines, but I still included this in the list because some sources it's also in Nasugbu, Batangas. You can check this out in google if you want to confirm hehe.

Laiya Beach Resort

Laiya beach is located in San Juan, Batangas. From Manila, it is two to three hour drive and it is one of the most popular beaches which also has white sand and clear cold waters. The most often visited during summer. It has a variety of guesthouses and resorts for all the visitors and travelers. You can easily look for a cheap, but comfortable places to stay. There is also a high end resorts if you want an ideal staycation. Resorts located nearby in the barangay are also considered as a Laiya Resort.

Nasugbu Beach

It's a first class municipality. Nasugbu has all the convenience that travelers might be looking for. The beach can provide precious moments for those who seek comfort and relaxation. There are also coves in Nasugbu that are occupied by privately owned exclusive villages. This beach is huge and where you should stay will depends on what attraction you would like to see. You can look for accommodations. They have resorts or hotels, rented houses, camp sites, and home-stays.

Nasugbu Beach Resorts:

  • CANYON COVE HOTEL & SPA
  • CLUB PUNTA FUEGO
  • PICO SANDS HOTEL
  • CALAYO GREEN TERRACE
  • AMARA RESIDENCES

There are more beach resorts in Nasugbu Batangas, you can check this out more on google if you want to go here.

Malabrigo Lighthouse

Malabrigo Lighthouse is also known as Faro De Punta or simply parola. One of the two lighthouses in Batangas. It was declared as a National Historical Landmark last 2006. The best preserved lighthouse in the Philippines. Located at Barangay Malabrigo Lobo, Batangas. This lighthouse has survived wars and has a great history that's why it is preserved up to now. There's a beautiful scenic view on the top of it.

Point of View

There are more amazing and beautiful places in Batangas. You can check them out on google. These are some of my favorite, if I have enough money, I would like to go to this places. In this list, Isla Verde and Nasugbu are the only place that I have visited so far. I didn't take a picture in Nasugbu because I'm with the oldies haha. They don't know how to capture a beautiful photo in phone. By the way, in Isla Verde photos, I'm the one who's wearing a white net with a shades on the head.
