Puerto Vallarta, Mexico an Unforgettable Experience

Updated on April 22, 2011

When I was fifteen, I visited the beautiful beach city of Puerto Vallarta. I was only there for two days, but they were an unforgettable two days. I never forgot the beautiful hotel and the wonderful hospitality I received there. When my family and I went to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, they treated us like royalty. The food was marvelous.

I never forgot the beautiful pool area the umbrellas that were made of palm leaves. It was beautifully designed. We had breakfast on the patio, and what a fantastic breakfast it was. The beach is so beautiful; the waters were wonderful for bathing in. I couldn’t make up my mind whether I want to swim in the pool or the beach. The people at the hotel were very friendly. The hotel offered a variety of tours.

My family and I took a tour across the town. It was amazing. We got to see Elizabeth Taylor’s Puerto Vallarta resident. We also got to see incredible views of the ocean and beach while riding to the town. I got to see my first Venus flytrap while being shown around by the tour guide. The town was spectacular. The town had so many shops to choose from, with incredible shoes and purses. I will never forget the incredible restaurant we dined at. The food was scrumptious and the cheesecake they served there was out of this world. One word of advice, my mom got the Montezuma Revenge, so be careful not to drink the water. Be careful when eating any fruit. If you feel funny, throw up immediately, that way you are less likely to get sick.

If you are looking for a vacation spot that is friendly, beautiful and affordable, check out Puerto Vallarta. A great way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo would be to visit Mexico. If you do choose to do that, then check out the beautiful, relaxing and scenic Puerto Vallarta.

      Hello Kalmiya,

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It has been a long while since I have been to Puerto Vallarta and from what you have written a lot has changed, seems it has become more commercialized, what a pity. I hope your next vacation is more relaxing, without all the sales people.

Puerta Vallarta is a lovely town and has many wonderful restaurants, shops and the Malecon or main boardwalk. However, when we went in 2007 we were continuously harassed by souvenir vendors on the beach and by time share sales people everywhere; even in the grocery store. As well, it is not possible to actually swim in the sea there as the surf is too harsh. I checked all the beaches from the south end all the way up to Punta de Mita. I had an ok vacation there but will go to Manzanillo or other places in Mexico to avoid all the harassment.

Thanks Lamme, I'm glad you got to go there, I went about thirty two years ago and I had the time of my life. I hope we both get to go back.

It's been a long time since I've been to Puerto Vallarta, but I have very fond memories of it. Thanks for the hub and the chance to reminisce.

Thank you Jen, Yes that is true. I went back in 1978, now everyone will know how old I really am. I am pretty sure that they probably keep areas that are for tourism pretty secure. After all tourism is important to their economy, so I would still consider going there. Of course, I would take every necessary precaution, and see what the crime statistics are in that area.

What a great vacation you enjoyed. I wonder how safe Mexico is these days. Seems like the best time to go has past which is unfortunate because it is a place we have always wanted to visit. Now there seems to be a lot of worry about personal safety. Thanks for the tour though, it was fun!

Thank You Sagebrush_Mama, I hope you do get to go to Puerto Vallarta. It was an unforgettable trip for me. Ask your husband if he wants to make it a second honeymoon, because, it's not only beautiful, but very romantic as well.

I didn't get to visit Puerto Vallarta, but my husband did. He said it was beautiful, though very humid. Would like to go someday!
