Quebec City Is Always Fun to Visit

No matter what time of the year, you will always find something interesting, fun, romantic or educational to do in Quebec City. 

Quebec City

One of the oldest cities in North America, located on the north bank of the Saint Lawrence River. Quebec City the capital of the province of Quebec was founded in 1608 by a French explorer by the name of Samuel de Champlain. There is so much history and European architectural beauty to be learned and seen here.

The Quebec City Summer Festival

Festival d'été de Québec this year runs from July 5 2012 – July 15 2012 and has been the province’s major event for 40 years. See hundreds of performers on outdoor stages in and around Old Quebec City. Entertainers and artists come from all over the world to perform at this festival.

Like Ghosts?

For Ghost lovers take a walking tour if you are visiting between May and October and discover the city’s ghosts.

New France Festival

August of every year brings the SAQ New France Festival with over 1,000 artistic events as well as Plein Art Quebec Festival where craftspeople exhibit Quebec art from ceramics, jewelry and textiles.

Plains Of Abraham

Visit the Plains of Abraham and see where battles were fought and won 250 years ago. While here you can visit the Joan of Arc Garden created in 1938 that now has over 150 different species of plants and flowers that can be seen April to October. Take a walk through the park on its many trails and be sure to stop at the Arboretum where you can see 28 species of trees. You may bring your dog along as long as they are leashed and you pick up any mess they make. There are many exhibits throughout the year that can be found online here.

Night Life

At the Grand Theatre de Quebec you can attend theatrical productions, concerts and hear the city’s symphony orchestra play.

Pubs, bars and cabaret bars are located in and around this wonderful city. If you want to listen to some fantastic Jazz stop by the L’Emprise in the Hotel Clarendon. Dance the night away at Maurice that has a salsa-dancing lounge. No matter what your taste in music is, you will find something you like in Quebec City. Last call for Alcohol in this province is 3 a.m.

There are places to stay to meet everyone’s budget and they offer everything from bed and breakfasts to Inns, luxury resorts and hotels.

There is public transportation for those that need it, but for the most part you will find you can walk anywhere you desire to go.



Quebec City offers fine dinning cuisine, bistros, pub style and many more restaurants to satisfy everyone’s palate and budget.

Take a romantic horse draw carriage ride through the city.
