Visit The Sint Servaas Basiliek
This basilica is built around the grave of Saint Servaas, the first Bishop of Maastricht. It's an architectural melting-pot from the year 1,000. The beautiful arched apsis has a prominent place at the Vrijthof.
The treasure chamber is filled with medieval golden art. Don't forget to visit the cloister garden just behind the church.

Visit The Bonnefanten Museum
The most beautiful museum of Maastricht, in the Céramique quarter on the east side of the River Maas, can be recognized easily by the rocket-shaped tower. The E-shaped building is by a design by the Italian architect Aldo Rossi.
The first floor, with early European paintings and sculptures, and the second floor with modern works form Limburg artists, connect through an impressive staircase.

Fort Sint Pieter
The pentagonal Fort Sint Pieter stands on a hill overlooking the River Maas. It used to function as the southern defense-line for the city and it's connected with a network of underground tunnels. The fortress, from 1701, has been restored in its old glory.
You can only visit the fortress by guided tour, a great combination with a guided tour through the tunnels. The fortress is a 2 kilometers walk south from Maastricht, Bus number 4 will bring you there as well. Go as far as the stop "Mergelweg".

This multi-faceted cultural center houses a library, exposition space, the city archives and it's the home of The Royal Sphinx, a living/office/public - complex situated on the location of an old Ceramics factory. It's designed by the famous architect Jo Coenen.
