Renting an exotic car in Las Vegas - Rent a Lamborghini

Updated on March 21, 2011

Forget a midsize upgrade, rent a Ferrari

If you've ever traveled to Las Vegas, you've probably noticed a whole lot of exotic sports cars driving around The Strip. Did all of these people hit the jackpot? Probably not. People just like to live it up when they're in Las Vegas, and renting an exotic car can be part of that.

Although far more expensive than renting a simple Ford Mustang or something like that from Hertz, exotic car renting is still abundant in Las Vegas. It might be the only chance you have in your life to drive a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, although don't even think about taking it to the track or one of the lonely roads out in the desert to test out its top speed, as the owners tend to have very strict rules about how you drive their cars.

How much does it cost?

There are several different businesses renting exotic cars in Las Vegas. They also usually carry your regular car rental vehicles. Something like a Ford Mustang convertible can be found for under $100 a day with unlimited miles if you rent for at least 3 days.

For a small upgrade, you can go with an entry level luxury car like a BMW Z4 for under $200 a day or a luxury SUV like a Hummer H2 for under $210 a day. If you're going for an H2, I suggest spending about $40 extra a day and getting a Hummer H1. If you're trying to impress people, the H2 just doesn't do it. Everyone drives H2's these days. You don't see that many of the bigger H1 anymore outside of military bases.

What I really like about these exotic car rentals is they often have classic cars. There is one place in Las Vegas that has a 1968 Pontiac GTO convertible for $350 a day or a 1958 Cadillac convertible for the same price.

For sports cars, you can get a Corvette for about $200 a day, or a Corvette convertible for under $300. For that price, I suggest going with the Lotus Elise, which is absolute dream to drive and can be had for under $300 a day. What's great about the Lotus is you don't have to be going over $100 to enjoy what a great car it is.

I know what you're really interested in is the exotic cars. In Las Vegas, you can rent everything from a Dodge Viper SRT10 to a Lamborghini Gallardo Spider, and everything in between. That includes a Ferrari 355 and Ferrari 360 Spider, which will cost you $1050 a day with a 100 mile limit and $2 charge for each additional mile. The Gallardo is $1350 a day with a $2.25 charge for each mile over 100. If you just need one of these exotics to show off for a short time, you can get them in 5 hour spans for less ($875 for the Lamborghini, which works out to $175 an hour).

I've included some videos below of the exotic cars mentioned in action. Please drive responsibly.
